The lack of an adequate release of the original theatrical cuts on modern home media.

Gotta admit though, Billy Dee's clapping ability is pretty damn spectacular.

I wouldn't call it "spectacular", but the way he claps does fit his character...:p

I have seen the OT time without number since that giddy first viewing in 1978 (it was re-released during the summer holidays in my country) and there is nothing I would change about them.

Certainly, adding a cloud of sand following Jabba's barge, as it flies over the dunes in its way to Carkoon

I wouldn't have Luke and Leia as siblings. I would have left Han as the helpful "pirate" and had Luke and Leia be "involved" and have kids for Luke to turn on...

Only one? If I have to choose I'd say the Empire being KO'd by teddy bears.

it's actually one of the better fights because a real fight between two skilled swordsmen wouldn't last very long unless it was like this. Kenobi is just stalling and Vader is wary of attacking the man who dismembered him.

Kenobi vs Maul at the end of Rebels is how a fight should truly go between guys as skilled as Jedi and Sith.

I know the stylized attacks of other fights look better on film, but I personally appreciate the simplicity of that kind of thing

Return of the Jedi. Not the whole movie, but most of it. I really like how they managed to end Luke/Vader storyline, and visually is a masterpiece. But the poor writing of everything surrounding the main storyline makes me want a redone version of this movie, plssibly in the vibes of TESB.

I love everything about ANH, except Lucas' directing. I know this is harsh, and I REALLY DO LOVE GL - SO MUCH. We would not have SW without him! But I would love to have gotten a genuine reaction from LS when he see's that his family was flame-broiled. Or from Leia when Alderaan was destroyed. This is Lucas Achilles heel. He's so awesome at some many things, but not a great director. Which is my guess as to why he tried so hard to get someone else to direct the prequels.

I do want to point out that I think he did a very good job on ROTS. He even got a solid performance out of Christiensen in that film IMO.

I thought the reactions were fine imo. It was nothing that would take me out of the movie.

I can think of more than one element, so for me, this response would take some thinking.

I think if Han died in ROTJ it would've totally completed his arc, and counteracted the over all 'cutesy' atmosphere of Endor, and the film as a whole.

Saying that, ROTJ is still my favourite.

Nah. You don’t spend most of the first act of a movie rescuing a guy from his uncertain fate from the previous episode, just to turn around and kill him off.

This is true, some would argue the length/ structure of that whole rescue sequence is unnecessary though. If you was to shorten the sequence, make the escape less convoluted and then have Han die for some imperative cause near the end, I think it would be fitting. His progression from a man that acted largely in self interest/ was dubious of the cause/Force, to one that then gives his life for that cause, would be quite poignant (I think Ford wanted that as well, didn't he?).

Obviously that would change the entire nature of TFA, which would be a much weaker film without Han in it.

I agree completely. A New Hope is a great film, but in some ways, I think it's a great film in spite of George directing it, not because of George directing it. I always felt like Vader came across awkwardly in that movie, Tantive IV scenes aside. Something about the way Prowse played him and the angles he was filmed at. lol.
