Have Padme more natural flowing dialogue.

    Anakin older starting out.

    Less Jar Jar

That would require Natalie Portman learning to act.

I would have done anyway with the events of EP 1 & 2. Split the third into the trilogy, and have Anakin already as an adult (it wouldn't be the first time in the SAGA we have been through into the midst of something). I didn't actually mind ROTS, reworking the script to make it work, slowing it down, making the events take place of a slightly larger time frame could have made it a really good prequel trilogy. Order 66 was pretty badass.

Things that I need to work into my idea, Darth Maul, Duel of the fates and Qui gon jinn.

I can't boil it down just one element. The sad part about the PT is that there some great ideas(Maul) and performances there (Neeson, McGregor) but some just horrible ones as well that bog the whole thing down.

    1) Time Frame. Obi-wan and Anakin aren't old enough at the end of RotS to make their ages in ANH and RotJ make sense, and with Luke and Leia being 20 in ANH he had limited options. The fall of the Republic & Rise of the Empire needed to happen earlier in the time line with an older, middle aged Anakin leaving a 45-50 year old Obi-wan to join the Darkside.

    2) Obi-wan should have met Anakin was he was older and combat pilot, making the PT jive with what Obi-wan tells Luke in ANH. Working within the framework of TPM - replacing Ric Olie with a 20-25 year old Anakin Skywalker would be a good starting place. Also Yoda, not Qui-Gon should have been Obi-wans master and Obi-wan should have arrogantly decided to train Anakin - this part of Obi-wans story from ANH was mostly transferred to Qui-Gon for some reason.

    3) Maul shouldn't have been killed in the first movie. Maul did something most people thought was impossible - he had a look and presence that matched Vader. He should have escaped Naboo without being killed, been the main villain in AotC and then died in RotS.

    4) The Clone Wars. A whole bunch of issues with the Clone Wars. We should have seen more of them on screen, having them start at the end of the first prequel would have been a good start, with them being fought, ending and hte Empire being created at the end of the 2nd movie, and Anakin joining the Empire in the 3rd. Simplifiying Palpatines story - I know Lucas wanted Palpatine to be controlling everything unseen, but it never really worked or came off that way. There was too many issues with the clones and Lucas never resolved the plot thread of who created them in the first place.

    5) Speaking of unresolved plot threads, the issue of Qui-Gon teaching Obi-wan and Yoda really needed to be fleshed out more or dropped

    6) Lucas needed help with the scripts. His concepts and stories are great, but someone to help with dialog and to smooth out the rough ideas (ie - why would Naboo have an elected monarchy?) would have been a great help.

    7) Padme needed to go into hiding with Leia for Leia's dialog in RotJ to make sense.

    8) Asking Ian McDiarmid to do action was a mistake

Focus thoughts on making corrections to "The Force Awakens" instead. Where they are really needed.

Nothing in TFA is nearly as stupid, cringe-inducing and badly made as the prequel fiascoes.

I wouldn't change the prequels themselves. I'd ask for people to criticize and hone Lucas's worldbuilding, much like during the OT, and perhaps have him not direct all of the PT. Even more so, just imagine Dave Filoni of today influencing Lucas's decisions to change and improve the already solid PT. Flaws or not, the changes to improve the existing films starts with someone telling Lucas to spend more time writing, revising his work, and telling him to not direct.

I never liked the Republic vs Separatist. Why can't a system leave the Republic? I think Padme and co. come off as extremely authoritarian by trying to force systems clearly unhappy with the system from leaving the system, and opposing it so much that war over the issue is looming by the time the movie starts.

I think Dooku (how the hell is he a count if he was taken from his family when he was a baby?) would have been a much more interesting and natural/logical character if he was still a Jedi who left the order but instead of joining the Sith (which really makes no sense) starts the separatist movement to combat the corruption he sees within the Jedi Order and Republic - basically making him the good guy in the conflict while the Jedi unknowingly are fighting for Sith interests.

Yeah, always thought that made Anakin's "If you're not with me, then you're my enemy" line seem less like the way of the Sith, and more like the product of his upbringing in the Republic.

The prequels try to tackle complex issues like this, but at the same time seem to sympathize with the "good guys" too much anyway. For instance, with Mace v Palpatine, of course you're rooting for Mace- but at the same time, shouldn't it be a big red flag that Mace is working with passion rather than the way of the Jedi, almost as if he's now being influenced by the dark side itself?

As I've matured, I've found the Republic to be more and more at fault for what happens in the tragedy, but I just can't quite grasp why the film ultimately fails to present to most viewers this complex issue as being as complex as it truly is.

Yes, I've always found it weird that something so supposedly iconic as The Clone Wars is only featured in the last few minutes of one film, and we see the closing of it in the early act of the next. I know we've admittedly gotten not one but two pretty good animated series depicting the events of these wars, but I'd have preferred to just get most of the action actually on screen- particularly since the prequels could've had some more meaningful action, anyway.

Not sure I agree that the Empire should've formed so quickly, but we totally should have seen the Clone Wars start by the end of Episode 1.

I'm assuming your viewing of Portman's work is very limited to the prequels then.

If we are saying just one: give us more Count Cooku. Period. Introduce him in Ep1 and have him split the Jedi Order by the end. Ep2 would play out as it is, but have the deleted scene of Jocasta Nu explains the Lost Twenty. Dooku would play a larger part in Ep3; there would be no need for the contrived plot device of Palpatine's abduction or the need to introduce General Grievous.

If we are saying more than one: restructure the saga based on what we know transpires in the galaxy up to now.

A Star Wars Story - TPM Episode One would be transformed into a prologue, A Star Wars Story. New Title: Son of Suns : A Star Wars Story.

Ep1 would be AOTC. New Title: The Phantom Menace. The story would play out as it does in draft 3 of the script found in the Art of book. Count Dooku is introduced in the Lost Twenty deleted scene. Ends with Dooku passing on the Geonosian plans to the Death Star to Sidious.

The Clones Wars : A Star Wars Story - This spin-off would be The Clone Wars (2008) edited with much of Anakin's and Ahsoka's character arcs from Clone Wars cartoons.

Ep2 would be ROTS part 1. New Title: Attack of the Clones. Begins with seven battles on seven planets. Count Dooku abducts the Chancellor -- OB1 and Ani rescue him; Ani kills Dooku. We see camaraderie develop between OB1 and Ani, and Ani furthering his relationship with Chancellor Palpatine. Ends with an Order 66 sequence, but before Ani as Vader.

Ep3 would be ROTS part 2. Title: Revenge of the Sith. Begins with a coronation of Darth Vader. Include Padme's Seeds of the Rebellion deleted scenes. Battle of Heroes on Mustafar is more realistic with no floating platforms and no blue hues heat shields -- see Ryan Church's ideas for the battle in his concept art. Have a slower paced lightsaber fight to more closely match the pair's fighting style in ANH. Padme lives. Twins are born on Dagobah. Ends with delivery of the twins to Alderaan and Tatooine.

Han Solo : A Star Wars Story

Kenobi : A Star Wars Story

Boba Fett : A Star Wars Story

Rogue One : A Star Wars Story

Ep4 would be Star Wars ('77)

Ep5 would be TESB (Special Edition)

Ep6 would be ROTJ. Begins with opening deleted scenes, Luke repairing his lightsaber and desert storm. Reduce Ewok shenanigans during Battle of Endor by editing together the final battle sequences between Luke and his father. (A bonus would be to have Endor as Coruscan'ts moon, and there are two Death Stars being built above the planet. In early drafts of the script, the Imperial capital planet was named Had Abbadon -- here we would visit the Emperor; we would not visit the Emperor on the Death Star.) End with original Ewok celebration sequence with Special Edition music; or, if Coruscant is in the film, include the longer victory celebration sequence minus Naboo.

    Ep7 would be TFA.

    Ep8 by Rian Johnson

    Ep9 by Colin Trevorrow.

I would change a lot of things, yes. For sure most of them have been said here.

I would change, and sorry if someone just put it here, the palette of colours (and directly it implies some of the things i would change).
I think there are too much colours, in planets, characters, costumes... lightsabers...
OT (even TFA and RO in an escellent way both of them), have the palette i like to see in SW universe. With less colours, this movies explains more.
