    What do you guys think? Clearly there was more to it than we thought. Where did the lightsaber fall to and with whom was it recovered?

    The only person to know about it to go look for it would have been Vader. Why would have anyone else at the time known and or cared? Those 2 were literally in an empty shaft a mile deep

    That's what we were made to think. However, I feel like the story is fuzzier than this because Vader would have to lose the lightsaber. Where would he have kept it? He did not die with it nor was buried with it. So if Vader recovered it, someone stole it from him or he gave it to someone. Where it was stolen/ whom received it seems like a place of some significance.

    It was probably picked up by Cloud City workers or perhaps droids who work in the airshafts. Or perhaps it fell to Bespin and was picked up there by someone.

    I don't think Vader ended up with it. I think it was found and remembered as legend and entered the "black market" potentially. Just a "knee-jerk" thought..... ;)

    Hmmm. I can see someone or something looking up at cloud city from below on the Bespin surface holding the light saber hilt in there hand and assuming that's where it fell from. That could be a really cool shot.

    Yea but I remember that shaft being filled with windows. Maybe they could go that route. Someone going about there business and outside there window they take notice of the not THAT distant light of Luke's/Vader's sabers clashing.

    BB-8 was cleaning the bottom of the Cloud City shaft vents. This was one of BBs first jobs as a young droid. Coincidently that day Vader and his son Luke were fighting high above in the upper levels of the same shaft BB was cleaning and the saber lands right next to him. Being a curious little fella he rolled over to check it out. He gets startled by the severed hand attached to it. BB whips out his trusty claw arm, removes the saber from the hand and stores it inside his secret compartment for 30 plus years.

    This scene will be digitally added to the JJ special edition version of Empire.

    What really happened in Empire Strikes Back....is exactly what we saw in Empire Strikes Back. Luke didn't get his blue lightsaber back because it was lost...in a city of clouds...and it wasn't important. If we "missed" something, it's because The Force Awakens added something.

    Just finished watching Return Of The Jedi. Man, what an awesome movie! I really love all of the original trilogy equally, and look at it as one big movie, I almost forgot how much stuff there was in ROTJ that I really loved.


    It's just wrapped up so neatly and perfectly at the end....it's hard to even imagine that there are still bad guys related to the Empire, let alone a whole regime of them still in power and trying to take over, where the good guys are actually on the run from them again.

    * sigh * ....I guess we'll see what explanation The Force Awakens gives in about 60 days. I just hope it's a really good one.

    Fingers crossed real tight.
