Apart from a Rogue Squadron one I'd like to see no other movie about characters (maybe only Jango Fett?) but something really exploring the GFFA and its history, like Rogue One. The first idea that comes to my mind is the beginning of the Jedi Order.

And I deeply want a Star Wars Disney animated movie. Exactly, we can have endless adventures without recasting! Sadly, 2D animation is off-limits. Most of the animation studios owened by Disney don't use 2D anymore, only for some TV series.

A movie about the origins of the Jedi would be pretty ambitious, because it would require some original world-building that would necessarily shape the rest of the canon, given how much of it is focused on the Jedi. If they did this, I'd like to see them hire an A-list scifi or fantasy writer as at least a co-screenwriter. In other words, someone of a higher caliber than the folks they usually hire to write the EU novels. No offense to them--I like quite a few EU books--but like most franchise fiction, they don't usually get A-listers to write that stuff. They need someone who is a real master at generating original and compelling concepts for worldbuilding to pull off the story of the origin of the Jedi: partnered with a seasoned screenwriter, ideally.

It is definitely ambitious for a movie but there is a lot of fertile ground to be covered. In addition to the origins of the Jedi and Sith, there is the formation & mapping of hyperspace lanes, the exploration of the mid-to-outer rim and the unification of the galaxy as a republic. It would be cool to do this with a feel that it is in the not too distant future. Where they have meager space stations in the outskirts of the galaxy that don't look all that different from the ISS; and people in space suits that are similar to what astronauts wear. I imagine it will be a long time before they commit any resources to telling galactic origin stories. They will most likely keep their focus on stories that take place during or between the PT, OT and ST eras. But that doesn't mean we can't dream!

I’d like to see more about the Guardians of the Whills.

I know there are people who aren’t that keen on Rogue One, but more Chirrut and Baze and how they came to work together would be a great thing.

I'm listening to Rebel Rising now by Beth Revis and there is a brief part where Saw and Jyn are talking about old guns/weapons of the past that used bullets/shells as opposed to blasters and lasers. I also think it would be cool to see force users of the past using samurai swords instead of light sabers.

I would like to just see them do a variety of movies in all the various eras. I liked Rogue One and thought that it worked with where it fit in the timeline for the most part but I feel like after Solo they need to go to another point in time other than the time period between Episodes 3 and 4. I like the idea of a Rogue Squadron movie since there are a lot of stories from the Legends EU that could be used as starting points. I never read the book series but I did read the comics and they were quite good for the time. I think that they could get a few movies out of that concept and since Rogue Squadron was formed before ESB you could make a movie set before then and then another movie set after ESB but before ROTJ.

I would really like to see some stories told in the post-ROTJ era that could expand and connect to the sequel trilogy but I don't think they're in any hurry to start playing around in that time period in live action, it seems to be book and comic book territory at the moment. I would also love to see movies sit in early days of the jedi. The Tales of the Jedi comics in the 90's were pretty good as were the Knights of the Old Republic comics and games.

Just like with Marvel or DC, I am sure Disney will take any character it thinks could be popular and make a film about them eventually. Even though Solo didn't quite make a killing, it did turn a profit on the worldwide stage, and factor in merchandising and home releases, I am sure Disney will make plenty. Actually, it may be beneficial to make movies about lesser known and loved characters. Solo probably wasn't as well received because people already love Harrison Ford as that character, and having someone else play him, just didn't fit (although, I though the guy who did, did a good job). But if they choose lesser known character in the world of Star Wars it might do better? Rogue One made over a billion worldwide, so there may be something there.

if you have other questions, let us know! : D

as for Solo, i'm sure the inflated budget didn't help, though Ron Howard probably did an amazing job keeping costs down as much as possible.
on a tighter budget Solo probably would have at least broke even or made a marginal profit on box office sales.
