Did you see Luke's speech to Rey.

The Force is about the circle of life.

One vital point in particular, among others:

The Force is bigger than Jedi, Sith, or any other group of believers, formal or otherwise.

Just as is true in our own world with the truly universally sacred:

all of it is beyond any mortal definition, text, or total appropriation and claiming by any denomination or group of believers.

We will agree here but is it developped in the movie ? Because if I'm not mistaken, Rey has become a jedi.

    Where is the change ?

For me Rey is not a Jedi, she simply had no training. I hope they call these new Marvel wonder kids something else. A Jedi means training and a mentor/student relationship. Rey could do everything on her own from the beginning. A funny thing, even Superman had some training in the beginning.

Did Luke say "Rey is a Jedi?" I thought he said "btw hoss.....I'm not the last Jedi". I could be wrong.

yes he said it, but Luke was so wrong in this movie, I ignore his words, lol. Luke stayed and died as the last Jedi for me. ;)

Luke mentions some words to Rey (as does even Kylo, a bit) to support the idea the Force is bigger than any particular Force-wielding group.

More than that, I think we are very much left to intuit the finer points and implications.

In our own world, no one has a singular claim or final say over universally sacred things such as truth, freedom, or peace.

These are things which exist long before and after any labels.

Philosophers (a la Jedi) can come along, tack on some labels, present some perspectives, perhaps even found some "schools of thought" which some will adhere to, but, in the end, it was not their thing to claim.

Indeed, such things -- true, freedom, peace, love, compassion, empath, the Force, and anything else of a universally sacred nature, such as life itself -- exist long before and after any definitions or taxonomies.

We have very strong clues to this in our own world, even at the philosophical level, as in the Tao Te Ching: "The name that can be named is not the eternal name."

I got that but she left with the jedi books at the end ... She didn't leave with anything else.

..last trained Jedi or someone like Leia or Rey who are untrained? What about the stable boy at the end who clearly is Force sensitive? The stable boy at the end is the whole point..

The fact that the force is everywhere and it was the first time Rey was coming to understand it.

It’s like when she was in the rain, it was the first time she’d ever seen it.

ah okay cool! thanks for pointing that out. I guess I wasn't watching it closely enough to dissect it later to hate it like some others were.

If that's the case (what you said) then yes, it implies that Rey-anybody (no longer 'Rey nobody') is in fact a Jedi.............or will be one...........or not.

Christianity is bigger than the priests and churches. Is this revolutionary?

    Wisely said, Mr. Hux.

Perhaps it will seem more "revolutionary" to state, in slightly different terms, what some of us actually have come to understand as the truth:

God is bigger than any one religion.

And so it is with the Force.

"Revolutionary" perhaps to those who, like the Sith, fell for the [Sith-like] "absolute" dichotomous defining of the force in terms of extremes: good versus bad, light versus darkness, Jedi vs. Sith.

All of this is far more vast -- the divine, the Force -- than any such mortally perceived extremes or any extremists.

It seems not because if the last priest is burning all the churches down, it would be a weird move.
