    Marathon to TFA

My audience on opening night 7 pm in 3d @ Mission Valley 20 San Diego was incredible.
It's amazing how much applause there was, for:

    -The Lucasfilm logo
-"A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away"
    -"STAR WARS"
-First shot of the Millennium Falcon
-The end of the Jakku dogfight
    -Han and Chewie intro
    -Rey mind-tricking the Daniel Craig-trooper
    http://www.nydailynews.com/entertai...play-stormtrooper-star-wars-article-1.2470140
-Rey Force battle for the saber
    -Rey knocking out Kylo
    -Credits

    Everyone laughed together too.......

    Standing ovation at the end..

Yeah the audience was great here to . We all cheered and laughed at the same spots and there was no annoying whispers or talk in between. Just a room full of devoted fans enjoying a new Star Wars flic.

First screening at Odeon IMAX was great but the second at Vue was a little quiet in places.

Us Brits don't tend to be particularly noisy in cinemas tbh. I've been to the cinema in the US, those guys are crazy. It was like being at a football match. ;) That's not a dig btw, just an observation. Having a bit of atmosphere helps.

Saw it twice. One showing was much more reserved. I enjoyed the first showing with people clapping, laughing, and applause at the end. It's one of the reasons you go see a movie like this in a theater. To feel it with everyone. Not just to be zombies in your seats.

In England the audience is usually silent except for laughing or gasps. When I saw it again yesterday some teenage girl was loudly crying her eyes out after the bridge scene near the end :p You could hear everyone talking about how amazing the film was as we walked out both times though

But we don't cheer or anything here at the cinema, everyone would look at you with disgust in their eyes!

In my latest viewing the titles got a smattering of applause, while there was some scattered laughter when Kylo's mask was first removed oddly enough.

There were a couple of moments that got big reactions in my theatre, let's see how many of them I remember (keeping in mind this was a 7pm Thursday showing),
In addition to what the OP said
    - Kylo stopping the blaster bolt in mid-air.
    - BB-8's 'thumb's up'
    - The first shot of Leia.
    - Luke lowering his hood.

As already mentioned, us Brits don't usually emote massively during a film, apart from things such as comedy. I've been 3 times and the atmosphere has been great every time.

At the Solo death scene you could feel the air being sucked out of the room.

After the films, pretty much everyone who went was still in the cinema talking to each other, and everyone was pretty bloody buzzed from seeing that piece of awesomeness.

My crowd was pretty awful, Noisy, distracting, rude and the movie's audio was really turned down. There was also this creep right below my row that was loudly hitting on an underage girl he was obviously over 21 because he was drinking and had a 21+ wrist band on and kept randomly yelling profanity. All that really took me out of the experience so much so that I didn't really "get it". After the movie I asked my girlfriend who is not a huge SW fan, "was it good?" and she said "are you serious? It was really good!". I'm just now putting the pieces together and I love it but I have to see it again.

Applause at the appropriate moments, from what I remember, but I distinctly remember the horrified gasps of those around me at the Han and Kylo scene and then sniffling, including me. What really make me lose it was Chewie's growl of anguish when he saw what happened. And the walk up the stairs at the end with the genius score of John Williams again made me weep, especially when the hooded figure turned around to face the audience. Epic. Just epic.

My audience was shocking..so bad infact that when Snoke told Ren his father Han Solo was on The Falcon the person next to me was texting away with his bright screen shining to the left of me. English audiences don't get carried away.

Would loved to have seen this in USA with a rabid audience!

The crowd opening night I was with was fun, got all the jokes, nods to the OT, clapped and hollered when the legends came on screen and loved the new characters.

And to think most of my crowd was teens to early twenties that's gotta tell you something right there. A young girl in line was talking about TESB. I am on my 30's and there were some older people maybe in there 50's and 60's too.

When the movie ended there was applause. Loved it and gave me such a smile that a younger generation knows SW

Agreed. I'm from England too. Totally quiet from the audience except for laughing at the comedy moments. This is just the norm here. But everyone looked happy when we walked out.

Did you end up liking the movie Bluemilk? as i remember you didn't seem best pleased about the leaked plot and didn't want it to be true. I hope you liked it in the end.

Same here , saw it in premium seating in Birmingham in the UK..bar first..free popcorn...huge reclining seat like a home sofa...audience was respectfully quiet and observed the Wittertainment Code of Conduct.

Laughed at the funny parts but no other sound apart from that

Lol, I'd have gone berserk Kylo Ren style if that happened to me on my first showing.

I enjoyed that film more than anything else I've ever seen for the first time so I'd be fuming if it stopped or skipped. Everyone else would be loudly complaining and I'd be smashing the s*** out of some seats with my lightsaber xD
