What would a brand new X-Wing look like?

I'm building one of the new Bandai 1/7s scale X-Wing kits but instead of doing a battle-worn fighter like every single other X-Wing model I've ever seen (or built), I want to do this one "showroom." Problem is, I've never seen what one looks like, short of other X-Wing kits that were just slapped together. I'd like to add some paint and color to it so it looks more in line with an ARC170, but I don't want to go overboard with markings that would have been applied as customizations. I'm looking at old photos of fighters being delivered to the AF and Navy for reference. There are some squadron markings, warnings, etc. Basically, I want it to look like the Alliance just took delivery of it from Incom.

Any thoughts?

Here's the kit. I'm going to ditch the decals and just go 100% paint. This is actually the direction I'd like to go, but my gut says it's over-painted here? I dunno.
