What would be the impact to Rogue 1 and Disney Star Wars if Lucas gave his blessing to it over TFA?

What would be the impact if Lucas endorsed R1 far and above TFA?

  1. None it would be full speed ahead with no course change

  2. Added Stand alone movies

  3. Revision of some of the plans for the Episode 8 and 9 with lesson sales learned from R1

  4. Birth of the "It is the only true Prequel" faction

    I may really be jumping the gun but I have been thinking of what would be the impact if Rogue 1 is a critical and box office smash hit that even gets Lucas' expressed blessing. If I recall Lucas' didn't seem very pleased with TFA and how Disney was handling things. Now if he does majorly get behind R1 could it create a split in SW fandom? Would that blessing, if it came, raise the box office and status of R1 appreciably? Could it lead to the team behind R1 story and directionwise get to influence the other stand alones and maybe even episode 8 and 9?

    Kind of a silly idea sorry. George will do nothing be vaguely polite and civil no matter how good it is or isnt. I think George is really hurting.

    Should they tell a story with Rogue One which George Lucas finds worthy of praise, why shouldn't he be commenting - and more than he did on TFA? ;)

    He said he liked it. Aside from picking a helmet this is the film he contributed the least to. TFA is based on character Rey that was his idea and the other spin offs are his ideas. Ironic how much people care for Georges input, but when it comes to Han Solo they want a Obi Wan spin off;)

    I read a number of articles at the time and Lucas did seem very critical of TFA. Now he might have later backtracked, as I do recall he walked back the slave owner exploitation comparison, but that was mostly to avoid legal problems with Disney and offending people not that the criticism was wrong.
