What would you like to see in EP9

I want to see Rey/Finn/Poe together doing something meaningful to the story

 

I'd like to see the nether world of the force.

 

Fair warning some of these ideas may seem a little extreme but I think they would be interesting narratively or visually. I also will not be upset if none of these things come to be.

- First Order Clones with Phasma as the template.
- Finn now a captain leading a squadron of other First Order Troops that left and joined the resistance.
- Chewie going down on the falcon in a blaze of glory. I want to see JJ destroy the Falcon in a meaningful way that is visually reminiscent of what he did with the Enterprise in the Star Trek reboots.
- I honestly want Reylo to happen because I think it would justify some of the creative decisions made in both films and do a lot to make the trilogy feel more consistent to more people.
- Bouncing off Reylo, I want there to be a female Knight of Ren that is kind of caught in a love triangle with Rey and Kylo which fuels her hatred for Rey even more.
- Luke Unleashed now that he is more powerful then we could possibly imagine. If we get to see Lukes ghost wrecking shop in IX I think more people will come around to appreciating his death in TLJ and understand why it had to happen in that film.
- I want Rey to remain no one. I won't be mad if they make her related to someone still but I like what has been set up.
- Mustafar/Vader Castle return with Knights of Ren.
- A battle on Naboo to kick off the film or on the flip side Leia's funeral on her birth mothers home planet. I am a big fan of Star Wars Ring theory and how all the films rhyme and I think it would be great to see IX start with Leia's funeral as an parallel to Padme's funeral at the end of ROTS. And conversely, I'd love for IX to start where it began in TPM with Naboo being under a first order blockade this time around and the Resistance forces liberating it and bringing the armies of Naboo into the fold.
- First Order military Coup against Kylo/the film starting with the first order at civil war with itself or an assassination attempt on Kylo early in the film.


These are just a few of the things I'd be intrigued to see and some of the things I would try to do if I was in J.J. shoes.

 

oh noooooooooo! don't kill Chewie! or the Falcon! i want the last shot of this saga to be Ben and Rey jetting off into hyperspace on the Falcon.

i've decided that in the end since we all want to see someone bring down a star destroyer, it ought to be Ben and Rey, together, pulling the Finalizer down; Hux gets his Khan-like death and the two of them do something spectacular that we haven't seen before (and that everyone seems to have always wanted). : D

 

I would rather have Ben and Chewie jetting off into hyperspace. => Ben becoming what he always wanted to be. No woman needed.

I seem to be the only who doesn't like this whole Starkiller videogame nonsense. Pulling a star destroyer down? That's no videogame. But it would definitely look epic.

 

Ben, Falcon, Hyperspace. the rest is all window dressing. XD

i do want to see Chewie hug him, though. if that can't cause spontaneous world peace, i don't know what else could.

i never liked it either, but i'm resigned to the fact that it's probably eventually going to happen. and hopefully it will, indeed be glorious.

 

More piano deaths. Then when the top of the piano lifts off and the key are now the teeth, the theme plays from the keys

Seen it two hours ago. To be honest, I wouldn't mind revisiting this concept. The part takes place in the dark isn't really that long and, as shown above, not many people remember it. The Dooku-Yoda duel was the main course in that meal.

 

We need closure on Anakin's father and Rey's parents. Was Plagueis involved?
Will Anakin make an appearance in 9?


I feel the writers have painted themselves into the proverbial corner. Another super weapon? Clones?
Was Phasma the Boba Fett/Aurra Sing of the ST? ( Aurra was heavily marketed prior to TPM)
We have yet to see the three big names with any meaningful action at the same time.

I don't know.... there's no real logical path that I see. I've only been watching the films and reading the books since 1977. Maybe a long term fan might see something differently.

 

I want to see continuity from episodes 7 and 8. I hope to see something unexpected, but I want it to be in line with what we saw in 7 and 8. I don't want to suddenly find out that "Oh, wait! Luke actually is Rey's father!" or "Luke is not really dead!". Something like that would really upset me.

 

I would like of like to see some payoff with the force ghosts. It's a common thread in this saga and there hasn't been much of a payoff. Did Obi-Wan become more that powerful letting himself get killed by Vader? So far that statement still doesn't make a lot of sense to me. With Luke given himself up at the end of TLJ there's an opportunity to do something big in Episode IX to tie all of this together.

 

I'd love to see a Destroyer pulled out of the sky.

I feel the same way. I think we get this payoff finally in IX.

This is exactly what I want. Finally a city fight and cities full of people in the sequel trilogy.

Also, I agree that the whole Kylo vs Rey is getting boring. Let's hope the final act is something different.

 

• The film to be set a few years after the Last Jedi
• A Leia funeral
• No repeat of the Is Kylo going to turn good arc, we've had it for two films it would just be repetitive now.
• Finn and Rey on an Adventure together
• Knights of Ren vs New Jedi, lightsaber on lightsaber epic battle.
• Development of Rey as a character too much time given to the empty mystery box of her backstory and not enough on developing her character.
  
• Hux killed off very early on and unceremoniously not giving Donald Gleason the chance to pull any of his silly faces
  
• A scene between the force ghost of Anakin and Kylo Ren
• A Finn lead Stormtrooper rebellion.
• Coruscant, (maybe in ruins).
  
• A force ghost Luke vs a Force ghost Snoke showdown.
• But whatever they do I just want it to feel like the natural next step in the story, not an exercise in subversion or an attempt to be overly familiar. Just a good story that feels like it flows taking into account how we got to this point.

 

Khan-like death... I'm glad JJ didn't give him a Tarkin-like death in TFA and I'm hoping we'll get something more original (and fresh) than that. I don’t know, maybe come up with a death that is more character than plot driven. That would be a good start to shake things up.

but that's what i mean by a Khan-like death: i don't mean all the crisping and spitting and quoting Moby Dick.
if Hux has to die, i just want him to go down fighting on the Finalizer with some dignity intact.

of course my first choice is that he doesn't get killed in the first place, but unfortunately i doubt they'll spare him.

Personally, I try not to think too much about what I want to see in a SW movie. I have some general thoughts, but I don't get very specific. I think a lot of the people who have their panties in a twist about TLJ are like that because they had concocted their own stories (some quite outlandish) in their heads and were disappointed they did not get to see their story on the big screen.
