What would you like to see in EP9

I would like to see Rey & Kylo doing their own pilgrimage things, trying to figure out the Force and advance their own training. I’d specifically like to see Rey going to Yavin 4, possibly to investigate the Sith/Massassi thing, only to be pursued by Kylo and/or The Ren. This could later reverse with Rey going after Kylo to Mustafar, possibly deliberately trying to turn him good (again), leading to an epic showdown there.

I’d like to see Ghost-Luke haunting both Kylo & Ren, and K & R should, of course, have more Force videophone connections. Despite Luke being my main man, my role model and invisible friend as I grew up, I don’t need to see an excessive amount of him in Ep.IX and I’d be happy with some scenes of him advising Rey (and Kylo?) as a Force Ghost tutor. Luke did his extraordinary thing at the end of TLJ and the character has climaxed <3

I’d like to see more Star Wars city stuff (revisiting Coruscant, Corellia, Cloud City, or Theed, or possibly some brand-new-to-film stuff like Nar Shaddaa/Nal Hutta or finally Chandrila or some other New Republic hub); there are far too few urban scenes in Star Wars films, IMHO

For tradition’s sake, we need a new monster scene of some sort, preferably one fought by a central character (Kylo on his pilgrimage?). Every SW movie needs an iconic monster

As for the Resistance, I’d like to see them rebuilding and networking, while being harrowed by the First Order at every turn. I’d like to see them (probably Leia) finally getting the New Republic to listen and start mustering against the First Order, only to be crushed in a devastating attack that ends the 2nd Act on a desperate low point.

The Resistance needs to be victorious in the end (I assume), and therefore needs something to elegantly win against. This leads me to suspect we’ll see another… if not super weapon, than at least main ship/base/something that the Resistance need to destroy as the framing story for what the heroes are all up to in the climax of the 3rd Act. I would not be against the First Order being foiled as they attempt to restart some sort of cloning program again.

I want as much Leia as possibly, doing as important Leia stuff as they can wring out of the deleted scenes they have available, and I would not be against the odd CGI Leia/body double bridging scene here and there to making it all work with the Leia material. In short, if they can make Leia shine in Ep.IX despite Carrie being no longer with us, I will love JJ/LFL forever and ever.

Finn has bested his nemesis, Phasma, (we assume), so his arc is sort of over already. He should probable focus on supporting the Resistance and our heroes now, although it would be cool to have him convert more Stormtroopers to the good side! Poe will have lots of stuff to do, and he has come into his full now that he’s the de facto leader of the good guys (not counting Leia); he’ll be at the fore of everything that happens, and I think Ep.IX could even handle him as a main focus of the story, with Rey/Kylo & Force stuff being the micro scale conflict in the background reflecting the macro conflict at the fore. Rose has pretty much completed her arc too, so she will probably support the others much like I predict Finn will. It will also be interesting to see what they do with Chewbacca, whose arc too has come full circle; will he just stay in the background and fly the Falcon, or will he find new purpose in some way?

Lando is the only remaining major OT character whose arc hasn’t been completed (or who has died/the actor died), so I hope he has a chance to shine in Ep.IX, possibly being instrumental in mustering forces in support for the Resistance. (Yeah, and as I’ve crowed many times before, I want to see Cloud City on fire over Bespin, with the First Order attacking to proactively deny the shattered Resistance any chance of finding new allies).

I won’t need to see the broom boy again; he was an epilogue thing, a symbol of the change brought on by Luke’s sacrifice, and broom boy’s time need not come already in Ep.IX. I also don’t need DJ back; he served his purpose and is probably off to hide in the wings with his riches now.

Finally, I desperately want C3PO & R2-D2 to do something again, to go on some adventure and have their own arc in the movie. They have been basically extras since the OT, with a few exceptions in the PT, and it would be cool to start off Ep.IX with our droid duo again, much like it was in ANH & RotJ.

 

I would love to see one of the most crucial moments for reaching the goals of the Resistance to play in Kashyyyk with Chewie and his kind helping out the GFFA as he always did in the background.

 

I would like to see people wearing hats. All kinds of hats, caps, helmets and all sorts of head coverings. Jedi would be nice maybe a bad guy or two. Murder bears!! Maybe a nice scene where Keylo has a good sitting down with his therapist, to deal with how Han stab himself on his sword. Maybe a couple times of what storm troopers do off duty. Is there some where they like to hang. The creature from it flying through the back ground. The two kids from good burger.

 

Now that you have started the light side of humoristic wishful thinking for IX..
..we need huge monster speeder bikes
..Luke haunting Ren in the toilets
..Leia REALLY bunching down Poe with a finishing move
..Hux totally collapsing during a speech where he tries to motivate angry mob to overthrow the Renperor
..a Superweapon imploding even before its first test
..a Clone army of Sheeves fighting against each other all the time instead of the resistance
.. an order 99 where all FO troopers start to hug their enemies..
...and much much more.

I want see Finn finally show some empathy for all of his former fellow storm troopers in First Order. The character of Finn has humanized storm troopers yet we still see them being used as faceless cannon fodder. I would love for episode 9 to address this. That would be awesome if he could redeem more of them and recruit them into the rebellion.

 

I want to see Finn going back to being a main character (if there's one thing that TLJ absolutely messed up, it's THAT), and I want to see him having a conversation with Kylo. An actual conversation, not just the two of them yelling at each other across a battlefield. Abrahms needs to put them in a situation where they're unable to fight for whatever reason and all they can do is talk. Getting them stuck together would work well. It would be the funniest thing ever, just imagine the death stares and insults.

 

I want the final showdown (whatever it is, lightsaber battle och big space battle) to feature the Duel of the Fates music

 

I would even go further an call EPIX "Duel Of The Fates". Haha!

 

depending on how this trilogy ends (and there are more than a couple of possibilities).. one of the possible endings will absolutely require Finn and Ben to interface during the movie. i would love to see them in a situation where they are begrudgingly helping each other.. and having to work out a way to get along.
the movie 'Enemy mine' sprang to mind when i was typing that.

 

I want to see two ace pilots go head to head in a good old fashioned dogfight. We've seen a lot of starship heroics in this saga, but we still haven't seen a proper dogfight. The closest we got was Vader chasing Luke down the Death Star trench, but given the circumstances/mission parameters Luke didn't really have a chance to fight back.

I'd like to see Kylo Ren in his tie fighter go against Poe Dameron in his X Wing, but I'll also take Kylo against Poe and/or Chewie and/or Lando in the Falcon.

 

I would like to see Chewbacca R.I.P. Kylo head from his shoulders.

 

The more I think about it, the more I want to see Ben Solo redeemed in IX. The story needs a happy ending that will make people feel good after seeing it. I don't see how the story could end happily without Ben turning back to the Light. This is the Skywalker saga and Ben Solo and Leia are the last Skywalkers. I want a reconciliation between the two. It just may take a dose of motherly love to bring back Ben. They'd have to get creative with the unused footage of course.

Near the end of the movie, Rey could pull out the blue Skywalker lightsaber. We will see that it has been welded back together. Rey will say to Ben, "This saber belongs to you!" And Ben will wield the blue lightsaber into battle. How epic would that be!

 

I believe that before Carrie’s death the likely plan was for her to play a large part in the redemption of Kylo. While I would like to see that still happen, I’m just not sure if they will be able to pull that off with the existing unused footage.

 

I suspect we'll see Leia die early in EPIX, and that this will somehow serve as a "shock to the system" for Ben that sets him on the path back to the light side.

 

I would love to see Rey lose a fight.

We haven't seen clones since prequels.
Probably a clone of some main/important/supporting character could be a astonishing and surprising moment. A character facing with its clone. A moment we can say: "oh my, what is this? Didn't expected that...". A clone of Rey? Luke?? Finn? A clone can give a big twist in the story.
I remeber prequel rumors of Obi Wan fighting his own clone. This could be cool.
