What would you like to see in Episode IX?

I think a worse fate would be for the Falcon to literally one day become garbage. Better for it to go out in a blaze of glory.

 

A backstory to Rey that explains why she can use force powers with such ease and no apparent training.

I wanna see Ren take out alot of people at once with his lightsaber .. Just pure rampage....

Depends on where they want to take the franchise. With everything set up the ST needs to be about 5-6 movies.

If "the war is just beginning" a time jump is needed to allow enough time for a war to begin and fester and even then one movie won't be enough to portray war with everything else that'll be going on (The stories of Kylo, Rey, Finn, Leia, Rose, Hux, The First Order, The Resistance/Rebellion, the Senate/political state of the galaxy etc., etc.)

With no time jump, Rey's entire SW journey would have spanned about 4 days.

I'd like to see...

• Rebel cells joining the larger cause
• Knights of Ren
• A massive, massive battle to really up the stakes and tension - think The Battle of the Five Armies, but...better
• Force users being found or something along those lines
• Rey to not die
• Some actual grief regarding Han and Luke
• A fitting goodbye for Leia/Carrie

...amongst other things.

I'm just excited to see where J.J. takes us

 

If there is a time skip during which Rey has done some additional training, then I want to see her using her Force powers to act as a one-woman wrecking crew against First Order installments. Or perhaps she'll prefer to act as more of a James Bond type, making smooth, surgical strikes.

 

I’m thinking we’ll see some sort of rebel attacks striking from bases all around galaxy echoing the ANH crawl. The First Order will be at the height of their power and we can see how much they control by this point (with a time jump).

As far as connecting all three eras, I’d want to see one final big battle with with some Naboo N-1 cruisers mix for example, return to past planets (for a legit reason and not fan service). Hell the resistance can go dig up some stashed battle droids to make up for their man power lol!. The OT has been covered mostly.

 

Essential

Good resolutions for Rey, Kylo, Finn and Poe.
However I'd like an ending that leaves things open for episodes 10, 11 & 12.
Knights of Ren, I'd be disappointed not to see anything about them.
A film where JJ is not be tempted to play it too safe after the divisive reception of TLJ, a bit safer yes but not too much.

Would be nice to have

A great send off for Leia, rather than just a mention in opening scroll.
A little info about where Snoke was from and how he influenced Kylo
More R2 and C3PO

I get the feeling that JJ will try to bring the trilogy back around to more of his style of story-telling and give it a tidy send-off. With that being said, here's some things:
- KOR more prominent
- More force-connection between Rey/Kylo
- Heroic death of one of the new, major characters
- Rey learning more about her family and going back to Jakku for some closure
- Luke and/or Anakin force ghosts haunting Kylo
- Luke force ghost moment with Rey

 

These are my requirements:

• Kylo Ren corruption background (ie, more about Snoke). Luke says he knew Snoke had already taken Ben's heart, so please, explain
• We need at least SOME explanation of the blue lightsaber between V and VII
• Luke force ghost

Wishlist:

• Lando please. In fact, drum up every Rebel callback from RotJ as possible, which would satisfy a lot of fans bent from VIII
• Knights of Ren involvement/battle scene
• Phasma return
• Reveal of how the MF ended up on Jakku

After these items, I'm really ready to let the story come to me.

A better arc for Finn
A separate arc for Rose (I like her character, but I really feel like her character overshadowed Finn's arc)
Rose joins the Millennium Falcon Crew
More New Characters (JJ did a FAR better job at introducing interesting, new characters than Rian did IMO. I like Holdo and Rose, but Finn, Poe, Rey, and even Kylo take the cake*)
Tatooine? Or maybe a PT planet?

Misc.
More kinetic action (TFA had this in spades, and it made me feel like I was truly there. TLJ, not so much, but it also had FAR better visual moments and fights)
More mysteries (say what you will about JJ and his stupid Mystery Box, it got us talking for years!)
More openness with influences (Rian was SUPER open about the movies that influenced TLJ, and I think that helped rein in our expectations, and got some of us to go watch those old movies and give them some love. It feels like we're following along with the director, and I really like that feeling.)


*Granted, TFA got to focus on them a lot more due to the fact the movie was something we've already seen...about three times...

DO you think Finn will have any chance at winning, even if he learns the ways of the force?

 

I think a LOT of you are gonna be disappointed if you really go in EXPECTING these things. You aren't going to get an explanation of Kylo's fall to the dark side, at least not in the detail you seem to hope for. That will come, if it does, in a novel.

The Leia send off aint happening. They can't resurrect Carrie, and they aren't going to recast/recreate her so what are they supposed to do?

I'd say fans needs to let these films come to them. Let go of your expectations and desires for the film to have X,Y and Z.

I think you will see Force Ghost Luke. I mean, RJ set that up and why wouldn't JJ take it and run with it? He didn't REALLY get to direct Mark, and I'm sure he'd love to do so. So this makes sense.

A new fledgling Jedi Order makes sense as well. Again, it just depends what JJ and Chris decide to do with the story, but RJ set this up as well. By setting IX a few years ahead in the time line (sheesh VII and VIII both take place over a fairly short time, like just a few days total).

As far as planets and characters? Lando? Mustafar? Coruscant? Sure, they are things I'd love to see, but I'm not holding my breath just yet.

 

If Luke doesn't show up as a Force ghost, there will be riots in the streets. Cities will burn.
