I'm thinking she might, given what happened in the finale of S2, how emotionally wounded and raw she is, and what awaits her in the temple.

But then again, I'm also thinking she might finally become a Jedi Knight, mostly like Kanan did. Yoda's already given her his approval, when they were in the temple on Lothal. I interpreted that as if he wanted to reassure her that it's still okay, and she's still in a way one of them.. And if facing Anakin/Vader wasn't the ultimate test for her, I don't know what was.

    Opinions? :)

Personally I think she has become one with the force, the way she descended in to the temple at the end, looked like her leaving this realm and join the mist of the ether.

We will definetly get more information on Ashoka in the coming months. With the expected novel coming out by E.K Johnston, the novel is going to tell the story of what Ashoka was doing during the end of the clone wars, so we may get some more hints and theories on what could of happened to her now. Like most of the Ghost crew, if she is alive she is definetly not going to be the same ever again after the confrontation with Vader. Ashoka turning to the dark side, while that sounds interesting and we got a sort of symbolic (lol, I really love using that word) final scene where Vader was walking into the light and Ashoka hiding or covered in darkness. I don't think she is going to the Dark side, but it may very well be a possibility. The idea of being a jedi.....now that option gave me chills lol. So it's interesting because by Luke having to confront Vader in return of the jedi, only then he would become one. Maybe it's a similar scenerio, and that way she could become a force ghost. Don't think she's dead and gone forever, not after that episode. My vote is on becomes a jedi.

@Chewy yes, I got the chills thinking about it too. I'd love to see it happen, not just for the OT parallel, but it somehow seems to me it really suits her character.
Funny how Yoda always seem to let his Padawans face extremely dangerous situations and/or disturbing visions. Luke on Dagobah in that cave, then how Ahsoka saw Anakin in the temple on Lothal, coupled with "oh yes, btw, do pay a visit to Malachor"... Nevermind they're all relatively inexperienced.

I don't think Vader would have kept her alive the way he stormed out of the cave .

My opinion consists of two words: Memorial Service.

    See below for details.

    THIS.

Everyone else was in daylight, topside or leaving the System...
but the convor flew down through the smoke for us to see Lady Tano one last time.

I think it's interesting tnat Dave Filoni said the convor was "In some ways, I could say that it's a messenger, it's an observer. It is definitely something. And I would suggest – I would rather have fans debate – but I would suggest to say that whatever that thing is an avatar of has actually appeared in the animated Star Wars universe before."

So do you think the convor could be leading Ashoka to a new chapter in her life, maybe more Force knowledge?

Wasn't it on Mortis, the story arc in TCW where they meet the Brother and the Sister?

Maybe they are saying she exists in a state closer to those beings now?

He says the bird is an 'avatar' for something or someone, I don't think he is refering to the bird appearing in TCW as such, but the who or what the bird represents.

Though I do think it could potentially tie into, for lack of a better term, higher Force beings. I'm only about to finnish S2 of TCW, so I have a ways to go yet. But I'll be keeping an eye out.

While entirely possible, for the sake of old Ben, I certainly hope not.

I'm satisfied with her character arc and have no interest in seeing her again. Ever.
Not sure how I will take it, if I find out later on, that she survived.

Oh, you are a harsh individual! I'm sure you'd cope, lol.

I am less satisfied, but I hate uncertainty, and although I get why they did it, if she's dead or whatever, I want to know exactly what happened.

Plus, why would the show make it that ambiguous if they didn't think there was a good chance there is more of her story to tell?

Why for the sake of old Ben? For the record, if she survives or not, she will never be a Jedi. She moved past that long ago.

Tired. I used to moderate the TV forum for a different Star Wars msg board and I lived in a world where it was all Tano, all the time.

Tano's first cliff hangar at the end of TCW was acceptable, the last one was not.

Filoni said as much in his latest interview. So I do expect some sort of eye-roll inducing story in the future and hopefully, I'll just be too old to care by then.

Its not in his character. If Vader wouldn't let Kenobi leave the Death Star alive, then I cannot accept anything less than that, for her. His last words to Ahsoka, said it all to me.

Well, here's a thing. Don't watch, or log on. Is someone holding a gun to your head, forcing you to watch the show and read the msg boards? Alternatively, perhaps a spoonful of concrete daily could help you? :p

Well, I'm only up to S3 of TCW, so I'll have that to look forward too. I'm definitely not tired of Ashoka yet, as I only first me her in Rebels. (ahsoka)

Sounds like you're too old to care now. Why even watch it or comment in forums if you feel this way? OK, I am kinda teasing you, but there's a part of me thats slightly irritated, as I feel like your spreading your dourness over the internet and raining on the parade of others, like me, who are not 'tired' and are quite enjoying the show and the discussion.

It's one thing to have an oppinion about the topic, it's another to have a pity party because you've had to much exposure, and are over it. Buck up, sunshine! Or go do something invigorating that you enjoy, because life is too short to be drained!

Cool, thanks for clarifying that. I agree that leaving her alive was not in his character, but that's the thing isn't it? We dont know what really happened in the final moments of the duel. For all we know, he thinks she is dead. All sorts of weird things could have been going on the end here, really.

I think she should stay the way she was, she has become more powerful after her jedi past, I hope that wasn't her ghost that went back into the temple she should get another encounter with Vader,

I used to love reading posts like this as a moderator. Xenforo can help u, see below.

I already eat bricks for breakfast, does that count?;)

That explains alot. I like Ahsoka, I enjoyed her story and was totally cool with how she left TCW.

I only post in the threads that matter to me as it is. I don't give two rancor turds about what happens in the ST outside of Plagueis = Snoke, so I basically post in one ST related thread. I care about Maul's story, Ezra and Kanan so I post in Rebels. I've seen all the PT and OT arguments (I also modded the PT Forum over there), so I mostly avoid those forums. I still read a few comics, so I occasionally drop in there.

We used Xenforo, there is this neat little function called [IGNORE] and you are free to activate it, whenever you desire. I've used it a few times here and I love the feature. If my dourness and candid approach do not enrich your posting experience, click that button and you will be free from my opinions.:)

No pity party here, you called me harsh, I said I'm tired of seeing her. If I didn't enjoy talking about the things I've mentioned, then I would have stayed retired. I took two years off from posting a word about Star Wars.

What purpose does that serve except to provide fans with yet another duel? When her TCW arc was finished, they let her walk into the sunset... and in Rebels her role was to connect the smaller cells and she's done that.... then she walked into darkness.... so I don't get the reason for her survival in universe. Letting her live detracts from Vader, Luke and the events of the OT. And its not just Tano, Maul must finally die as well. Only Plagueis and Darth Krayt are worthy of escaping the fate belonging to all force users... because one could cheat death and the other was alive inside a Sith tomb the whole time.

And maybe Quinlan Vos, but that's for selfish reasons...

I so want that old Solo comic to be canon.
    :p

Well, one of my theories would be that they resumed fighting and obviously Vader had the intention to finish her - showing mercy was obviously not something we would expect from the Dark Lord of the Sith at that point, at least three-four years before finding out he has a son - but then the Temple exploded (that is why we see Vader limping) and then he assumed Ahsoka is dead.

If she is alive, it is a dark perspective for her to survive there, stranded in a Sith Temple, but hopefully there is a way she does.

However, as Filoni said, it is hard to think any of the Rebels would come out of Malachor unscathed so I don't think she will come back to the fight with the Rebellion since in a way, she has failed. She couldn't rescue her old Master from the claws of the Dark side that was imprisoning him, and he would be more like a liability for the Rebels since Vader would be chasing her to get to any remaining Jedi.

In a wishful thinking scenario, she would go to hiding afterwards and there is a way she meets with Luke and Leia - maybe between ANH and ESB - without knowing they're Anakin's offspring. Or maybe she survives after ROTJ - still being no Jedi, so what Yoda said on his deathbed would be still be true - and gets to meet them and tell them about her old master - and at least something about Padme, come on!! But this last paragraph is in my headcanon lol.

Ok, maybe I was a bit harsh there in my previous posts, but I'm not one who is shy of letting people know what I think or feel. I guess I still have a ways to go on the diplomacy scale. I like reading mosts of your posts, so I will probs never use the ignore thing you spoke about.

Also, how is providing more duels for the fans a bad thing? ;)

Ahsoka is alive but the Ghost crew think that she's dead.

I guess that she has lost faith in the Force by seeing Anakin becoming Vader. She's gone to exile.
