Phantom Menace because it’s a bit dry and boring. Not much happens form the start to the end. However I don’t hate it. I liked Maul and the whole of Naboo. It’s my least favourite though out of all of them.

I think, quality wise, AOTC is the least well-made film. But I’m completely incapable of being impartial with respect to TPM. I still vividly remember how incredibly disappointed I was sitting in that theater back in 1999. Nothing, for me, will ever be able to compete with that sprawling divide between anticipation and dissatisfaction. Episode I will always be at the bottom of my list.

FWIW, I don’t consider the animated Clone Wars a real ‘movie’. It was a TV pilot that got a theatrical release for some bizarre reason. That’s never really been in the conversation for me.

Attack of the Clones. I didn't even have to think about it.

Phantom Menace, because it's rubbish and serves no point. Attack of the Clones could exist with nothing but expositional backstory and it wouldn't make a difference. Anakin being a child just literally has no story value in how its presented as part of that trilogy. I want to see three movies of Anakin's downfall, not just him being a massive tosser from the moment we meet him as a teen in Episode 2 and going nowhere but downhill from there.

Jyn Erso's ark is far stronger and she's only alive for one movie.

That said, both Ewoks movies are worse than even the worst of the prequels.

    Attack of the Clones

    • Anakin was portrayed by an actor too old to act so whiny. Either cast a younger actor or write more grown-up dialogue for him
    • Dooku was meh - and no Sith should ever be meh
    • Droid factory special effects were so bad that I couldn't follow the story
    • Lightsaber combat was nowhere near as good as Darth Maul's scenes in the previous movie
    • Natalie Portman's worst performance. She was pretty good in TPM and Revenge. I know she can act. But not here

    But on the other hand
    • John Williams absolutely shined in the prequels, and maybe AOTC was his pinnacle. God, we're lucky to be alive at the same time he is
    • Jango Fett vs. Obi Wan, both the evasive dialogue and the fisticuffs
Still, it was my least favorite Star Wars movie. I really enjoyed TPM and Revenge, and I felt I got my money's worth out of all the prequels, so it's all good. But it felt like they just tried too hard to be awesome at the expense of being enjoyable.

That's the only part I really like of AOTC. The whole movie should have been Obi-Wan and Jango Fett. Haha!

The Last Jedi -- only SW movie that could have been improved by adding Jar Jar.

The Last Jedi is emphatically, and without a shadow of a doubt, the worst movie in the series. And I guarantee you that'll be the consensus by the time the next movie comes out. Star Trek: Into Darkness, the worst single entity - film or episode - in that entire franchise got 90% on Rotten Tomatoes when it came out. And now it is nearly universally acknowledged as a disaster. The hype machine only needs to work long enough to make a billion dollars.

Could Attack of the Jedi be better if it simply changed its name?

Anyway, the Last Jedi has my vote here.

I will say that Revenge of the Sith is lucky that Attack of the Clones exists, because if it didn’t it would be the worst Star Wars movie ever made. Two absolutely awful movies.

I would have to say The Last Jedi. I was about to write TPM, but that movie is at least structured somewhat properly (and I've never had much of a problem with Jar Jar) and there are a few things to like. TLJ has that awful Canto Blight-scene that lasts for quite some time but which was ultimately not even needed for the movie. I also think Canto Bight had some of the worst alien designs and some of the worst plasticky masks and puppets of the entire Star Wars saga. But that's really one of my least complaints...

The Last Jedi is the worst experience I've had watching one personally. Attack of the Clones as the worst acting and dialogue. The Clone Wars is the worst theatrical release.

The hardest question in Star Wars is this question.

It has to be The Phantom Minstrel, I mean Phantom Menace.

If only because even the great Aaron McGruder abandoned Star Wars and Lucas after that awful, tragic mess.

Seriously, Jar Jar Binks is an unbearable mess of a performance, a digital Amos n Andy in space. This movie will not stand the test of time well AT ALL.

That said, oh my goodness, Revenge of the Sith is unbearable to watch. It was made in less than 60-days and it shows in almost every single way. Worst. Acting. Ever.

Canto Bight is all of 11 minutes in length. It exists for the same reason the asteroid belt/space slug stomach diversion exists in Empire: Character development and relationship building. Both locations have nothing do with the overall plot of the movie, but they have a worthwhile purpose for existing in the movie.

I'll go even further and say that Canto Bight actually has more plot relevance than the space slug scene. Whether or not it's better depends on your personal preference and whatnot.

My instant go-to was Attack of the Clones, if only because I never actually watched The Clone Wars movie/pilot/whatever it was (but I did love the show!). But even in that there are things I adore: Obi-Wan's whole arc, the colosseum stuff and ending battle on Geonosis, the video games...anyways, I have good memories of even the worst of Star Wars (that I've seen), so I think there's good to be found in all of them.

The acting by the young anakins ruined the character for me and then darth vader doesn't seem the same at all. The prequels were good for the most part but so many characters with casting choices or inclusion of pointless nonsense like jar jar took away from the plots

I'm a bit late to the discussion, but for me it's TPM. I mean I didn't absolutely abhor it, it has good moments just like every SW film, but the good in the movie just doesn't make up for what I personally dislike about it. It's cliche to take jabs at Jar Jar, but he really gets on my nerves quite a bit. I'd say the best moments are with Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan. That's where the film really shines for me.
