All I was saying was that it had some good parts I for one would not have liked to miss.

 

You said you didn't understand the aversion to the HS. Which would imply that the overall product was good, and that criticism of it was misplaced. But a 10 minute cartoon doesn't save the entire 2 hrs. from aversion or take away the horrible live action parts, which a clear majority of the special was.

 

3.Star Wars Holiday Special

 

Okay, I see. But it has good parts, IMHO, that do not justify the aversion I usually read about it. And perhaps it's a generational thing. There was nothing after ANH, so the HS came like a little revelation, because of the animated segment.

In retrospect after 7 films, animated TV series and plenty of books it's much easier to find fault with the HS when during the time of its release there was only one film and one new book.
YMMV.
