What's Your Favorite 'Head-Canon' ?

- Ben Solo never wanted to become a Jedi Knight, he wanted to become the best pilot in whole galaxy (maybe this is already canon now, but I don't know it).
- Ben Solo had some type of "girlfriend" during his time at Luke's academy (this girl was his only friend, every one else ignored him or even mocked him)
- Ben Solo and Chewie were close during Ben's childhood (apparently debunked).

So it's all about Ben. Haha!

Ben misunderstood his parents talking about a monster being Darth Vader and he thought it was him. Ben's middle name is Chewbacca (I know some of you hate it, but it amuses me). Hux really does have a cat or at least a tooka and he loves her. Artoo knows a lot of dirty jokes and tells them in the movies, we just don't understand them.

 

The Jedi Knights were as evil as the Sith, but were so convinced of their self-righteousness that they never bothered asking if they should be arresting the legally elected Supreme Chancellor and taking control of the Senate.

Because it's okay to do a military coup against a Democracy if it's all in the name of Democracy, right?

John Jackson-Miller's Kenobi novel still happened. And Clone Wars TV show still happened. Just in slightly different events than what was shown.

 

My favorite head canon?

Not to brag, but when I take off my hat my head cannon auto-targets the nearest Rebel scum and fires 200 blasts per minute!

 

I'm a fan of Vader using Padme's life force to sustain himself until he could heal, until it was too much for Padme. But I could totally see Palpatine encouraging/coaxing that.

 

Why would Vader do that? He was shocked to find that Padme was dead, that was probably what cemented his transformation into a Sith lord, so obviously, he didn't know what happened to her after Obi-Wan took her. He still cared for her, even after he went crazy and force chocked her, so why would he do something so harmful? It just doesn't work. But Palpatine would have totally done something like that, if only to make sure that Vader had nothing more to lose and would give himself to the dark side (meaning Palpatine's evil ways) completely. This would also explain why Palpatine knew Padme was dead when Vader asked. As far as I'm concerned this meant he was keeping an eye on her, probably sucking the life out of her too. There was virtually no other reason for Padme to die. The robot nurse (if I remember correctly) said that "she lost the will to live" (or something like that) but that's ridiculous, Padme still had faith in Anakin before she died. AND she had 2 children too. Her body was fine and she had all the reasons to want to live. But Palpatine just murdered her slowly because he was no longer afraid to use his full Sith powers.

 

Just because Vader didn't know what he was doing didn't mean he didn't do it. Palpatine quotes "It seems that in our anger, you killed her." This could be taken for him being the cause of Padme's death by the Force Choke when she was pregnant, but that feels a little weak. The movie itself interplay's the birth of the twins with the "death" of Anakin Skywalker and the death of Padme with the birth of Darth Vader to a degree too.

Besides, what's more poetically tragic? Anakin using the life of his wife to turn into the monster she wanted to stop? Or Sidious just...erasing her from the picture in a silent manner?

As for Sidious keeping an eye on Padme, it kinda makes sense. She's his fiercest political threat in The Clone Wars and ROTS as well as the wife - something he mysteriously (or not so mysteriously if you believe the Jedi also knew something and just hoped Anakin would make the "smart" play eventually) knows - of his most promising pet project. But Palpatine isn't one for doing much himself. The only times we've seen him fight are in TCW episode "The Lawless," and ROTS. He usually uses Sith Alchemy (even then very rarely) or manipulation. He likes to set blocks up and watch them fall, usually due to their own actions.

And even if Sidious did do it himself, it'd paint a giant target on his back if Vader found out. Or rather, fuel an existing reason to defy Sidious outside of the normal Sith way.

So Sidious guiding Vader to take the life force of Padme is likely, but Sidious doing the act himself isn't really in character.


Also, wasn't the "lost the will to live" soft reconned into that the droids simply didn't have the medical tech/know-how to save her by Pablo Hidalgo?

 

My understanding of the Force not evolving from the OT. I never saw it as having a will, but more as a force of nature, like gravity or magnetism. Or more fantasy like magic that you have to train and practice and work at to master. Think manna. Once you understand how to use it, you can do amazing things.

The PT and later the CW has shown it has a will and consciousness. Now the ST has shown it's more faith based than knowledge based. I'm not a fan of faith based force and miss the OT version.
