I just realised the thread title is asking for a detail or moment, not a scene...
    In that case
    [IMG]
would be one of the most special moments...

My favourite little moment in the OT is when Luke asks Obi-wan how his father died. Sir Alec Guinness gives a pause that, in the wider context of the saga, speaks volumes.

I know this is a little off topic, but I'm gonna jump to The Phantom Menace and say my favorite little detail was the breathing apparatuses Qui-Gonn and Obi-Wan put in their mouths before the swam underwater to the Gungan city.

    Why?

Because they didn't make a big deal about it. The studio didn't try to show it off, the characters didn't talk about it, nobody drew any unnecessary attention to it.

That's why I've always loved Star Wars, because the story centers on the characters and not the technology. It's the anti-Trekiness of it all, the casual familiarity with everyday tools in the Galaxy far, far away, that allow the viewer to see the story and not make the tools the story.

Maybe Vader force throwing random objects at Luke during their duel on Cloud City. He was such a jerk, damn Sith just couldn't fight fair lol Poor Luke was waiting for Vader to strike holding his lightsaber tightly, and all of a sudden...Boom, air conditioning unit to the face! (or whatever that was) The Sith really did suck, and I love how little details like that prove it. Luke had the patience of a thousand saints to deal with that crap.

When Yoda raised the X-Wing from the swamp. The music, the puppetry, the acting by Hamill is the most Star Wars moment for me. That is Star Wars distilled right to it's core and I really crave more of that stuff.

Luke Skywalker: Well, more wealth than you can imagine!

Han Solo: I don't know, I can imagine quite a bit.

    STILL makes me smile!

To not make (yoda)such a a$% hole to the Skywalkers.
I watch the films & don't think Yoda or his motives are clearly explained.
The Last Jedi(2017) even has a sense of friction-tension with Luke & Yoda.

For me it's Han's face in RotJ when Leia tells him that Luke is her brother and he has flashbacks to Leia kissing Luke.

C3P0 saying "Here we go again" in ROTJ, and "Will this never end" in ANH, like they have been in those situations a million times before

Anytime Wedge goes all top gun on anyone usually gets me. His saving Luke by flying through the TIE fighter he just destroyed has been a favourite (I even love how they embellished it later on).

Luke on the barge with his green light saber as always stuck with me as well.

It’s the little moments for me. The ones that don’t need to be in there. They don’t advance the plot, they just flesh out the characters and make them feel real and genuine.

Like this back and forth between Luke and Han in ANH:

Luke: So, what do you think of her, Han?
Han: I'm trying not to, kid.
    Luke: Good.
Han: Still, she's got a lot of spirit. I don't know, what do you think? You think a princess and a guy like me--
    Luke: No.

Han’s just teasing Luke there. It feeds some nascent love triangle element I guess, but really it’s only there to codify the fraternal big brother/kid brother dynamic between the two. It makes their relationship, and thus this world, that much more believable. It’s simple and perfect.

Or the scene between Han and Leia in ROTJ on the Ewok treehouse of silliness, when he can tell she’s upset. He inquires out of concern, gets rejected, and begins to reject her right back. He starts to leave out of indignance that she won’t confide, but observably stops and puts his ego aside. He goes back to comfort her because he realizes what this woman he deeply cares about needs most in that moment is a ‘shoulder’ and not an ‘ear’. Again, it’s so simple, but it conveys so incredibly much about these characters without having to say anything. Perfect.

And because it makes me smile every single time, this back and forth between Leia and Han in ESB:

Leia: Would it help if I got out and pushed?
    Han: It might.

Sums up their personalities and inter-personalities so efficiently. It’s adversarial, but playful and represents who they are as people. Fantastic.

God, I love the OT so much!

Honestly mine would have to be Lando's cape, that thing was literally put into a memorable thing by fans and it just amazed by how iconic Lando's capes got with everyone

My favorite is the implication that Boba Fett was the one who killed Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru. (The "No Disintegrations" Scene)
