Vader's entrance did it for me. I was wondering after hearing Vader in Rebels whether he would sound like he does in the original trilogy (thanks to movie-budget editing), and for the most part, the effect was much stronger this time around. Hearing more James-Earl-Jones-Vader is always a joy for me. It's a shame he didn't get more dialogue.

But yeah, I really liked that they included Mustafar, and the whole scene just worked really well. The Imperial March when Vader walked in sounded like it was straight out of the original trilogy.

I also really enjoyed the ROTJ-inspired final battle in space above Scarif. Cool stuff. And the crash when the Star Destroyer came out of hyperspace was awesome as well.

The first Death Star/Tarkin scene also deserves an honorable mention. I saw the movie with my brother and we were both wide-eyed looking at him. Not a perfect effect, but still amazing anyway.

I love Bor-Gullet - all the SW have a slimy creature in them, its tradition (JJ Binks x 3 - eek, Dianoga, swamp monster, sarlaac, rathtars, and now bor-gulltet RIP)

Yes!!! Another favorite part of mine.

I also wonder Vader is thinking about when it goes to that shot of him looking out the window. Missing his starship battles during the clone wars perhaps? Hahahaha.

The hologram scene is one of the best moments if you ask me. It ties up all the questions with the Death Star and it showcases a pretty good moment for Felicity Jones. Obvious K2s death scene is one of the greatest moments as well as Vader's killing spree scene.

I think it just felt sort of out of place. For a movie that was going for a more grounded approach to Star Wars, it felt awkward having a big tentacle monster thing in it. Sure, it's been done in SW before (Dianoga, Degobah swamp thing, Pit of Carkoon, the sea creatures in EP1, the godawful rathrars, etc) but again, I think it was just kind of jarring.

Though, given that I believe Saw is a sort of Bizarro Vader, it was kind of cool seeing him use an organic creature for interrogation rather than Dr. Ball MD.

@PrincessLeiaCB3 I have never intentionally given a negative rating, it must have been a mistake! Fixed! :)
I might as well contribute a little more to this thread while I'm here.
I wish we could have seen the TIE ascending to confront Jyn on the walkway, but sadly it was removed.
The Vader scenes, of course, were everyone's favorite scenes. Other than those magnificent scenes, my attention was definitely shifting more towards Chirrut and Baze more than anyone else. An amazing duo with such skill and chemistry. I especially fell in love with Chirrut's massive impact bowcaster. I don't believe we have never seen a scene where soldiers on ground take out star fighters in the sky. AMAZING!

Yet, by far....my answer still stands that this......was the moment everyone had goosebumps.....I can not see this enough...

I thought it was that - I'm guilty as charged sometimes when I am using my mobile and I had given the wrong ratings too! LOL.

I wish they had kept the TIE fighter scene too! It was quite impressive visually.

I agree it was a cool looking shot. But if that moment wound up being resolved as planned and an X-wing just swoops in to make short work of it, that would have been fairly underwhelming to me. The stakes were already high enough I think. That’s the mark of good editing IMO: knowing when one more brush stroke is one too many. My take, anyhow. I’m curious to find out what all landed on the cutting room floor though. Hopefully included in the blueray . . . which will find its way to YouTube.

You know, that's a pretty fair point. Brushstrokes really are the difference between a heated and intense saber fight, and two Jedi swinging on ropes like acrobats above a giant lava river. Sometimes, restraint is for the best.
