When can we expect books/comics about Kylo Ren?

    I know that it is a tough situation because much of Kylo's story probably hasn't been figured out by Disney/LFL/JJ. However, you probably could have said the same about Rey, Poe, Phasma, etc. yet we do get new media from them in the form of comics, novels and (shudder) Forces of Destiny.

    So, now that TLJ gave us a glimpse into Kylo's past, and much more information about his present, when do you think we might start finally seeing him in some media outside of the films?

    Also, how does information about these sorts of things usually come out? Like, how long before the release of the Phasma novel did we know it was getting made?

    I always hoped that when the two big comic series ended (Star Wars and Darth Vader), they would move on to the sequel trilogy featuring a series with the Resistance heroes and one following Kylo. However, with Darth Vader having started a new series recently and the other one not ending anytime soon, maybe they leave it for just before or even after the release of Episode IX. Speaking of the books, one explaining Kylo's backstory would be more than welcome, and I dont expect it to take too long.

    Claudia Gray said she really wanted to do a Lost Stars follow up but as of right now the 30 years in between the Battle of Jakku and the ST is off limits. We've only barely gotten any glimpses and most of those have stuck really close to TFA. I assume once Ep.IX is done they'll open the floodgates and we'll start to see bunch of stories that took place there.

    See, I think you all are correct that we won't get any expanded media until after Episode IX ... which is TWO YEARS away! But, I feel like the only reason we can't is because the author wouldn't know what plot to write around (and not spoil). And the reason for that is because the ST was not planned from the beginning, it is being written one movie at a time. To me, that is really a shame. Not only do we lose out on well-planned cohesion among the trilogy, but we have to wait on expanded media. Who's to say if the hype train will even focus on the ST if Rian John is already revving things up for 10-12 after 9 hits.

    I just feel like the ST has such incredible potential but it is being squandered by the the leadership at Disney. I've been reading a lot of interviews lately and I really do not think Kathleen Kennedy cares about the Star Wars fiction or fans -- I think she just wants to make money =( I don't care if the creators of awesome media want money -- if the media is awesome, I want to give it to them!! But it needs to be a two-way street and KK is really concerning me. =(

    You summed up my worries exactly. It's clear that the books/comics etc follow the movies and not the other way around. That means we'll be stuck in the OT and Prequel timeline for two more years! It also means that we aren't getting Old Republic books/comics for even more years to come.

    I would think a Marvel Comics miniseries would be forthcoming. They've already fleshed our Phasma with a minseries. That sounds kind of obscene.

    kylo is going to be part of the Age of Resistance Marvel comics coming out this year (see link above ) so that’s a start at least in terms of kylo book related material . Have been catching up on the Star Wars comics last few days and in the editorial section of Star Wars adventures # 15 it said they are saving Kylo for something special- see above ( this isn’t the first time they’ve mentioned this in the editorial).So presumably we are going to see a kylo special mini series maybe in the Star Wars adventures also ( they are doing this with Rey at the moment with Destroyer Down ).

    Kylo is reportedly supposed to show up in at least one other one-shot from the Age of Resistance series, besides his own, according to one of the writers.
