When did Leia show more grief?

If I could add a scene to TFA it would be a teary eulogy of Han Solo given by Leia, embraced by Chewbacca, around a bonfire of Resistance fighters honoring the lost comrades of the battle.

 

Hat sounds like he anti-ROTJ Celebration...I could imagine them actually flying TO Corellia to give a eulogy and seeing some comics characters like Sana Solo, reminiscent of Qui-Gon Jinn's Cremation in TPM, I LOVE your idea, though .

 

There's still a slim chance some slice of the picture you present could appear in a deleted scene.

It's a commonly shared sentiment but I still can't reconcile seeing Chewbacca walking right past Leia upon arrival back at base. They likely made holo communications prior to landing but still... Wookie's, this one at least, seems to have a loyal and sentimental nature and he's been through a lot with Leia.

I too feel she could use a good hug and a Wookie could be arranged...

 

I could see a scene like this:

Action - Chewie walks past Leia and Rey.

Action - Rey boards the MF.

Leia: "I'm cold."

Action - Chewie holds her.

Leia: "The one time I need a walking carpet..."

Action - Chewie roars lovingly before boarding the mf.

 

The old scoundrel still swaggers like a cocky cowboy... love it.

 

I just wish Leia's line in hay scene was more snarky like from The OT .

 

We should have seen a shot of Leia hugging Chewie, that's all I have to say about the 'They didn't grieve enough for Han' thing. It's not like we're not going to see them again, we'll probably see a bit of Leia and Chewie's depression in episode 8.

i really can't deal with thinking about Han & Leia raising Ben and i hope they never go into detail about it.

i don't ever want to find out that Han & Leia were bad parents or just not there like they could have been and prefer to think Ben was well-loved but had some predisposed emotional imbalance because of his FS that they couldn't overcome.

 

good point about Leia dealing with her own FS and having a Vader-daddy (even if he did turn).

and i totally agree about Snoke. i guess i just think there must have been a reason young Ben was so easily manipulated and feeling like an outsider because of the strength of his FS could account for it. especially if Leia was initially trying to keep things low-key.

 

that's really interesting. especially her concerns about having kids. i honestly don't think they are going to touch on it much here. it doesn't make sense to spend time ruminating on the particulars ~ there's too much forward-driving plot to accommodate picking up the past. we might get hints here and there: TFA does a good job setting tone and suggesting things (like with Han & Leia's estrangement).

i feel (as i did with Vader) that ultimately it shouldn't matter how Ben got where he is. the important thing is what they're going to do about it now.
