Marvel studios(also owned by disney) has penciled guardians of the galaxy 2 in for may 5 being summer kickoff and the diffrent styles I suspect canniblazation in this instance will be minimal

May 2019 however is reserved to an entirely different marvel animal

Not only the forth or half the third however you choose to see it installment of the mos lucrative superhero property in history but the culmination of everything the marvel cinematic universe has been building towards since the release of iron man in 2008

Like is said I think that gap is enough for guardians but will disney really want to risk canniblization between these two epic finales?? I seriously doubt it I think the simplest solution may just be to keep alternating depending on avatars status if it has one at that point lol what do you think disney should do

Well that's why this is a poll cause all im trying to say is episode viii and GUARDIANS 2 can surround the same month but I don't see disney taking that risk with infinity war pt 2 and episode ix the epic finales (no marvel studios won't just shut down I mean infinity war pt 2 will be the final film for most if not all of the principal AVENGERS) of two of their big long-term investments there for a May release for ix is highly unlikely so I made a discussion of when we're likely to see it

 

Disney has already confirmed the dates of the st to be 2015 2017 and 2019

I don't want the same director doing more than one film if its not going to he Abrams

Let's liven this discussion up a bit does the poster who voted May care to come forward and explain why disney would put these gargantuan finales in the same month

 

Guys I know I'm not a mod and I can't make you nor do I wish to but I wanted this be a discussion not just a poll I see 1 other and 2 more that seem to that no infinity war pt 2 and episode ix can coexist in the same month can we talk about that?

 

I just want to be clear this is not about my personal preference of release date as I have none I just don't think we're gonna see episode ix and infinity war in the same month

 

I lost everything I had pinned to my browser and I was looking for a certain page on force.net I always have pinned and saw a user suggest July 4th weekend I can't believe I didn't think f that its a good summer blockbuster weekend definitely far enough away from infinity war pt 2 and the tentative justice league sequel (June 2019)

UPDATE:=in fact I hereby change my vote to "other" the "other" being July 4th weekend 2019that's a brilliant idea( I don't get to say that about TFN members often) I wish I could draw it to Disney's attention somehow (marvel's inhuman s is currently set for July 12 2019 but plenty of time to move that to later July or November (in fact July 12?? Deliberately missing the 4th? Is this already a debate??))

 

Ok o think I prob figured this out for real

Marvel revealed yesterday that they have been in negotiations with Sony to bring Spiderman into their films for months before it (and the pushback of many phase 3 films as a result stay with me) was announced

take a look at their schedule

Marvel seems to be determined to set a release every May July and November for as long as they remain profitable beginning in 2017

As a result of the spidey shake up for 2019 they have infinity war 2 for may and inhuman s for July but November remains unoccupied

Perhaps disney is offering that slot to another subsidiary

 

that would cut avengers 4s legs

 

wow 8 votes! why does everyone think avengers 4 and episode 9 can coexist in the same month

the first and last films of both prior trilogies each came out the same day as one another in their respective years

ROTJ may 25 1983
TMP may 19 1999
ROTS may 19 2005

 

how can someone be sick of a series that's only had one sequel anyway ?
