So TFA waited til 2 months before the film to start heavily pushing this film. Do you think it will be the same with Rogue One or will they start sooner?

I hope they find time & events to give us something like a 30 seconds trailer to speculate throughout the year, till Celebration where I think more will be revealed.

How about a Rogue One teaser trailer popping up in front of TFA the second week of January or so to get everyone back into the theaters to see it again?

R1 will probably be sooner since it's pushing into new territories of filmmaking for something like SW .

I don't even think they class that as an official teaser? I think they said it was just something thrown together for celebration for the fans?

I'm surprised we haven't even got an "88 seconds" type teaser yet. TFA's first teaser came just about a year out from release.

Yup. It's just hype. But that's the point. There's no need to to see anything official for some time.

My belief is that we will get our first look at the movie, with either a Teaser or Behind-the-Scenes Short, along with the DVD release of TFA.

As far as the big push goes, I'm guessing it won't follow the same pattern as TFA. Disney's marketing people have a completely different animal with R1. Star Wars is now back, this time they will be trying to maintain momentum rather than reigniting it. It won't have the natural excitement of being the first new Star Wars film in ten years. It won't have the automatic draw of Ford, Hamill and Fisher to generate interest. And then there's the biggest challenge of all - making general audiences understand that it isn't a sequel to TFA, and then making them care about a story set almost 40 years before the events of the most recent film.

The best thing they have going for them is that TFA built up an enormous amount of good will for the franchise by delivering a movie that so many people have enjoyed. But getting audiences to understand how the Anthology concept is going to work will be tricky. I can't help but think that they would have had a much easier time if the first Anthology film had featured a character audiences were already familiar with (like the Han Solo or Boba Fett movie).
