Yes and it happens due to honest mistakes because there are so many things that are involved when the movie is being made so little things here and there add up something

Jayson Actually, that is exactly why they were used; because those films are famous for plot holes.

Also, I disagree. Time travel does not inherently equal a plot hole. A plot hole is as defined above which requires a writing or editing error.

    Cheers,
    Jayson
If you can show me one time travel film that does not contain a plot hole then I'll concede the point.

Watched the film for the first time since the theater last night, and I have to say that I noticed how a ton of the perceived plot holes are pretty blatantly explained in the film if people were paying attention. Holdo, for instance, has a freakin monologue explaining to Poe why she doesn't need to explain the plan to him. Listening skills are a valuable asset.

However, I did notice one small thing that I haven't seen mentioned yet. When Luke tosses the lightsaber over his shoulder at the beginning of the film and walks away, it seems like Rey is heading over to the lightsaber to pick it up before the scene cuts. However, it's still on the ground later in the film, with porgs playing with it.

Obviously we never see Rey pick up the saber, so it's hardly a plot hole, but did seem a little odd to me.

i assume it went over the cliff and she she had to go down around to pick it up because we do see her fetch it; that's when she notices the x-wing.

my favorite in the ST so far is still: Ren wearing a cowl, then not wearing a cowl, then wearing a cowl, then not again from one cut to the next in the finale between him interrogating Rey and meeting up with Han on the bridge. it's a total continuity mess. XD

I love when people get mad at those inconsistencies in a movie about Space Wizards.

Don't forget Finn and Rey constantly exchanging Poe's jacket between shots. In a film nominated for an Oscar for the best editing! It still cracks me up a bit whenever I see TFA's third act.

Star Wars has always played it so fast and loose with facts and "science" from the start where a franchise like Star Trek generally lives in that.
And now Star Wars fans have become like Trekkies. Disgusting. ;)

    That makes.

Like I said, easy enough to explain away, like pretty much everything that people have a bantha up their sarlaacs about these days.

It's odd to me when people start going science fiction on Star Wars. Star Wars is fantasy. "Leia wouldn't survive in space...."

Her dad wouldn't be born without a father. Luke couldn't grab a lightsaber with some magical force.

I watched the Collider commentary yesterday and I was stuck by the "Leia hasn't trained" as an observation about that scene. We haven't seen Leia's story for 30 years. Why do people think this way?

Rey didn't train either and she was able to grab Anakin's saber right in front of Kylo's nose and she didn't have a Jedi brother. Do people truly believe that Leia would have let herself to float around and not try doing anything that could save her from dying? Sure, she could have started doing breaststrokes and she'd have most likely achieved the same effect but it would have looked silly. She's Force-sensitive, for God's sake, let her use her Force powers at least once in a more active way than feeling a presence of a close relative.

Well one of the four individuals on that commentary clearly didn't belong and if I remember correctly he was the one who said that.

I'm not sure if it has been mentioned somewhere but the edit of Luke on the rock at the end is pretty sloppy. He falls on his back on the rock then the next time you see him he's crawling on the rock on his stomach then at the beginning on the last shot he's laying on his back again.

The commentary is good...except for Costa. No idea why he was there. And when Harloff kept prompting his meh impressions.
It really lacked someone like Napzok.

And there were a few things Harloff said that were just wrong.

You don't die instantly in space. It takes about 30 seconds. If a guy can survive a lava immolation...30 seconds in space is fair game

Annoyed the blast out of me the entire time.
Offered nothing of value to the commentary. Seems like he might be funny in non-Star Wars commentary....

We're talking here about a franchise where basically every planet has an atmosphere breathable to humans. Discussing the realism of survivng in space has as much merit as discussing the atmospheric contents of Mustafar or Crait.

This entire planet is sulfuric or salt based...it would basically be a slow painful death for any living creature..."Not in my star wars!"
Leia is in space for 20 seconds. "UNFATHOMABLE!!!!"
