If it is a success, I know where Disney gonna go.... to the bank!!!... lol... Seriously tho, I don't see a Rogue 2, especially if it ties up the store it is telling. This is the first Anthology movie. So if it is a success, it will definitely show them there are other stories to be told and money to be made outside of the Saga trilogies. They will not need a RO2 with all the other possibilities out there.

Completely agree with Talon Karde - I'd love to see a version of Shadows of the Empire. I'd be perfectly happy if that was the rumoured Fett movie. Boba delivering Han to Jabba while being hunted and double crossed by bounty hunters was a smart way to make you root for a bad guy.

In terms of R1, I initially hoped that Disney/Lucasfilm could resist a R1 sequel if/when it's a success. There's something cool and honourable about sticking to the vision of a one and done movie.

However, the more I think about it, the more I'm open to a sequel. The (hopefully few) surviving members of R1 leading the Bothans on a mission to get the Death Star 2 plans seems like a cool way to go. Especially if we have a double agent who is working for Palpetine to ensure the rebels get the duff information about the battle station's operational status. If Jyn's character is played with some ambiguity, it'd be an amazing twist if she was the one to set the rebels up in RotJ. A scoundrel working for the highest bidder kind of gal, kinda like Dr Aphra. I'd be up for that!

If it's a success they would create a "line-franchise" as a universe building method for the main movies and consolidating the budgets across the entire SW cinematic universe .

I don't think that there will be a sequel to Rogue One. But why does everyone think that all the characters will die in the movie? I'm looking forward to the movie, but I'm disappointed about the direction that these anthologies seem to be going in, though I'm certain they'll be financial and critical successes.

Rogue One is about plans to steal the Death Star, the second anthology movie is going to be about a young Han Solo (why??????), and the third will be a movie about either Obi-Wan and Boba Fett. Why are all these movies dwelling on the past instead of showing us new stories and characters? I remember there was a rumor a couple of years ago about a Star Wars film that would be heavily inspired by "Seven Samurai", except that it would be Jedi in the place of the samurai. I'd love to see a movie about seven Jedi ranging from Masters to Padawans tasked with protecting a planet against marauding forces.

This is actually a good question and I was thinking about it the other day. If there was a sequel, it would be years away, because Disney has a lot on its plate right now. This could spiral out of hand real fast. Because what if the Han Solo is a huge success, will there be sequels for that? Or the possible Obi-wan movie? What happens if Disney wants to do another trilogy after 7,8,9? I prefer this to be a stand alone movie. In fact, it would be quite daring if the heroes die a heroic death trying to get the Death Star plans. The movie would have a bittersweet ending.

Yep. I can see that. If Rogue One is a hit then they will see the the open door for more popular single installment SW films. And there is a plethora of potential SW characters and stories to use.

Rogue Two...stealing the plans for the second Death Star.

I think they will go beyond the sequel trilogy, the the opportunities are vast. Maybe we get a clone war movie. That always seemed rushed to me. My money is also on a new trilogy in about 20 years.

I think the Solo film will show a relationship between Solo and Jyn.

Think the Rogue One story is just supposed to be a one-time movie to tell a unique story, not a series. I'm hoping they do a Yoda Origins story. Considering how old Yoda was, we'd encounter a myriad of ancient jedi and sith along with unique cultures, worlds, etc...

A Yoda movie would definitely be interesting, more so than a Han Solo or Boba Fett movie IMO. Would be cool to see older generations of Jedi. It is highly unlikely that we would see any Sith though, considering that by the time of Episode I, the Jedi thought that they had been extinct for a thousand years(longer than Yoda's lifespan). That doesn't mean we couldn't see other cool villains though.

The only problem with A Yoda movie, that I see, is that the villians wouldn't necessarily be traditional villians but rather "villians" in the sense of being his rivals who are also Jedi...but that's only if that movie takes place too far into the past but it would make more sense for it to be taking place roughly twenty to thirty years before TPM so we could maybe see characters such as Dooku (when he was still a practicing Jedi) and Qui-Gon Jinn and all...but something on that scale would obviously only work if the wild card that is R1 succeeds.

The way I see it, there's plenty of room for other villains and conflicts, they just wouldn't take place on a full galactic scale. The Republic may have known peace for a thousand years, but the vast majority of the galaxy is not part of the Republic. Plenty of room for border skirmishes and other types of intrigue.

Ah, true. Hmm...No sith really makes things even more intriguing. So many possibilities.
