lol....Well, Rey is still 19 in TLJ considering 2 days passed in TFA, and another 2 or so days passed during TLJ.... so building a new order and being besties does make sense for now since she is a little too young to get married and have kids.

I think a Rey and Kylo romance would be epic....I just question their romance being based on the need to perpetuate the Skywalker-Solo line. Honestly, I think its best to keep an open mind and see what the film makers give us in terms of romance when it comes to Rey, if they even do give her romance. I'm only against the potential for a relationship being criticized before it even happens as in the case of Rey and Poe.

But for now, I absolutely love the Finn-Rose romance....Rose's expression when she said she saved him was so heart melting.

 

With Rey and Poe it's more timing than anything. They haven't talked much.

never. if they end up together and raising 16 kids, it's not because those kids will be Skywalkers.

too late for that, people love to prejudge. hahahaha

awwww, it really is sweet. i hope they develop this in an interesting way.
it makes a good contrast: a nice, healthy relationship to model what Rey and Ben should have in order to be legitimate.

frankly, we haven't had a truly healthy relationship in Star Wars yet. we desperately need one.

Didn't daisy also post something insinuating romance between Kylo and Rey?

 

I don't recall her posting anything, but she definitely 'liked' quite a bit of Reylo art.

 

But still, at 5 min. Not only is it still alive (ReyLo is) but it's on a whole new level

 

Guess it's time to run dramatically into the loo and cry for half an hour.

But seriously. This has the potential to become one of the greatest love stories ever told or to blow up in their faces. If they keep at it with the tone they took in TLJ, they should be fine. But if Chris Terrio does any of that Martha bullshite... yikes.

I for one welcome our Lord and Saviour Mr. Adam Douglas Driver.

It's so nice to see him comfortable and happy. He's usually so anxious at these press thingies. I'm so proud of my boy (who's like 15 years older than I am but like who's counting)

 

You have to consider that the Finn-Rey relationship was also 24 hours long. And Finn-Rose now have shared experiences as well.

In fact, minus the time when Rey was kidnapped. Their time together was less than 24 hours.

 

i honestly can't make a case for "abuser" against Ben.

TFA doesn't count because they were not in a relationship.
they treated each other as opponents and she beat his ass.

in TLJ what exactly does he do that's so terrible?
he tactlessly yells at her to accept the truth about who she is.
he's mean and angry because he's feeling rejected after allowing himself to be vulnerable.
(huh ~ just like his father, who yelled at Leia in the hallways on Hoth--he's an idiot).

but everyone just hears "you're worthless" and ignores the "not to me" part, which is the crucial piece of information.
or else they say he's just manipulating her and there's no sincerity in it.
Ben is selfish, but he also only understands that his own life has been completely ruled by "meaningful destiny".
for the first time he's challenging himself by saying he believes her to be his equal regardless of where she comes from.
he's making a sincere (albeit privileged and wrong-headed) effort.

and she absolutely rightly rejects him for his behavior because:

1. he is selfish and he needs to grow up,
   
2. he expresses himself abysmally and,
   
3. he's clearly not letting go himself.

but if we're calling that abuse, then much of what passes for conversation in general (and especially around here as of late) falls in the same category.

abuse is a pattern of behavior. most of what passes for their "relationship" in TLJ is tense, but they communicate and share understanding.
then Ben blows it (spectacularly) after they've been through a traumatic experience together, when they are both feeling more vulnerable and fearful.
that's basically like saying any man who ever yelled at any woman even one time because he was stupid, hurt, and confused is an abuser.

nope. not buying it.

Kylo will discover that the name of Rey's mother was Leia, and that's why he'll refuse to duel her.

Part of me hopes they can pull it off, or at least JJ can, if they decide to go full steam canon.

 

Oh for gawd sake, ReyBen has been obvious since he took off his mask in front of her. The trilogy is hinged on it. TLJ didn't end that story, it gave it a kick up the backside.
