"causing great pain" where do you get from ? She was uncomfortable yes. "forcibly entered her mind" she did the same to him in a more effective way it seems.

She got force pushed into a tree and that's about it, it doesn't seem to bother her in The last jedi and It defo didn't bother her then because right when she woke up she sliced his face and beat his ass, she was also beating a wounded man, that's pretty abusive.

They are at war, on 2 opposite sides, yes there will be abuse, so either :

1. It was a mistake to cast a woman to play such a role (unless we make it full disney and the "violence" becomes very children friendly) because we wouldn't have this conversation if the roles were reversed. I don't think that's the problem, Daisy is fine.

2. it would've been better to have them cuddle each other right from the start. That makes no sense, even the weirdest cartoon wouldn't have 2 enemies acting like that without being better established first so that's not the problem.

3. Your soul has been corrupted by years of bathing in that victim and outraged culture.

 

i can appreciate that. it's obviously a very sensitive subject for some people.
and i do agree that people can be abusive without being in a relationship.

but in TLJ there is at least intimacy/tension between them ~ an actual relationship by which to judge.
rather than as combatants as they were in TFA.
this is what we have to go on in terms of their interactions to judge whether an actual relationship between them would be abusive.
does Ben abuse her in TLJ? he yells at her one time out of frustration and anger.
people assume that he's incapable of behaving any other way and maybe that's fair enough given his general behavior.
but frankly, he's also more calm and more gentle with her than anyone else.
i don't think we have enough information to judge him with regards to Rey.

and again, if Rey wasn't a woman, Ben's behavior (especially in TFA) wouldn't even be an issue.
Vader cut off Luke's hand (talk about abuse), but in context of combat, it's not personal, it's just war.

Rey trashed him and left him helpless in the snow. she also (rightly) rejected him when he got mad at her.
she's not a victim any more than i think he's prone to actually abuse a woman.

this is just my read on the characters thus far. others' mileage may vary.

 

And as far as we know, force bond remains at the end. It could lead into IX.

He also tried to help her get over the past, and instead of knocking her out or fighting her, offered her a genuine offer of power first. He cares about her, but just goes about it in a messed up way.

 

well yeah, there's nothing healthy about this relationship at this point, but i don't see it as abusive either. hahaha

 

Yup. 50/50 chance to happen.

At the end of episode 9, I think there is a 20% chance she'll get romantically involved with Kylo, 20% chance she is with Poe and 60% chance she is still single and her love life is left open ended....just to ensure fans keep speculating and fighting for a few more years.

If they can't choose one, it'll be ALL of them together.

 

As I see it, Rey will probably end up with Poe. Not because she needs him or anything, and it would probably be a better movie if they didn't have a thing, but Poe is just one of those characters who you know has to have some sort of love interest. So since there are no other main characters available, I'd say it's probably Rey and Poe.

 

Id agree with you. Except Poe is taken. He's in love with his ship. They'd been going steady for several years, then she died when Kylo shot her in TLJ. He is a widower.

 

Ah but the overall theme of "letting go of the past" will come back to get him in the end. Did you see that look he gave her at the end of TLJ?

Also, we see Poe flying multiple different ships in the sequels. How could someone truly in love jump from ship to ship like that? Restating what I said, Rey doesn't need him.

Boyega still has hopes in FinnRey. Maybe that last glance Rey shows Finn said something specific in the script. I definitely saw something even though no one is talking about it.

Episode IX see's Rey falling for Kylo, but she can't be with him because hes on the dark side. She fakes suicide, and realizing all that is worth in life, Kylo come back to the Light side just before he impales himself with his lightsaber. Rey wakes up, and upon seeing him dead commits suicide. Finn walks in to express his true feelings for her but sees the two of them lying dead and follows their path. Poe walks in to see Rey on the floor and pulls his blaster out right as Rose wakes up. Suspecting a love triangle, that Poe and Finn both loved Rey, Rose believes Poe has killed her love with a blaster and shoots Poe before he can do the deed himself. In agony over her fallen love, rose pulls the blaster on herself and the movie ends.

 

I’ll happily bet all my credits now that they’ll kiss in IX. Serious. All my credits. It’s inevitable.
