On what planet did Luke trained his younglings ?

Obviously it wasn't on Acht-To because if it was, they wouldn't need a map to find him.

I'm not still not positive what it was that was destroyed.

Also, how was it destroyed? Shouldn't Luke have able to prevent it from happening? Were the Knights of Ren former pupils who turned on him? Did they destroy everything while he was away?

I posted this in another thread, but it may explain something:

Pablo once tweeted that Rey's abandonment on Jakku and the academy massacre are not necessairly connected and Pablo now also tweeted that the accessability to Luke prior to the thought 6 years may be more. I came up with this:

Snoke + Ben (since he was a target of Snoke from early years according Leia) first had to get rid of Luke. So they captured Rey (either Luke's daughter or Han/Leia's small daughter or the daughter of Luke's best students). Then they threatened to kill her, if Luke doesn't leave (therefore the sad goodbye to R2 and Luke probably never able to tell the whole truth to Han/Leia). After Luke was marooned/forced to exile, Kylo was ordered to kill Rey, but he still felt a pull to the lightside, so he abandonded her on Jakku without telling Snoke. After this Kylo was ordered to attack Luke's students and he killed them all. Since Luke was already marooned, he could not help. From then on Han/Leia probably only had contact to Luke via holo message, but these were faked by Snoke and instead Kylo/Ben was the whole time with Snoke. ;)

i think the idea of physical single location for Luke's Jedi may be a misnomer.

my impression from Bloodline is that Luke and Ben are cavorting around the galaxy and out of touch as a result.

i would venture that they didn't settle in one place, but traveled constantly, learning about the galaxy and the Force through direct experience.

I have the feeling that there hasn't been a traditional academy at all, at least no stationary one. I think Luke only trained a few force-sensitive people at once. This small group was always on the move to seek out Jedi lore. (=> so there could be some remaining Jedi...)

I may be wrong with this but we will find out more in EPVIII for sure. :D

EDIT: Lol @FN-3263827, we had the same thought...

I'm not sure that we saw the destruction of 'academy' or school or temple, whatever you like to call it, in the movie. There were too many bodies in that Force-back, I don't think Luke had that many students.

I agree that is more likely that he had a small group of students (Carise in Bloodline calls them acolytes) that he traveled with. We also don't know if Ben openly turned. He might have led Luke's students into a trap while Luke was away for some reason or arranged attack with overwhelming numbers. As we know from SW history, even a Jedi can be killed with the blaster and hit in the back.

I have one wish for the ST, and it is that Rey will "reopen" the Jedi Temple on Coruscant Now, I know that's far-fetched and unlikely, but it's just a personal dream of mine to see the restoration of that place. Usually, I dislike revisiting old places just for the sake of nostalgia, but I don't mind it if in some instances (like that scene in Jurassic World where they walk into the old abandoned visitor's center.)

My theory is that they were moving around but I guess The Weapon of a Jedi book seems to indicate that Luke might have wanted to return to Devaron.

I agree, that would be rather neat. Plus, it would be interesting to see how the Sequel Trilogy, with its increased emphasis on practical effects, would make Coruscant look. Coruscant is one of the elements of the PT that has held up better with time, but I'm also curious how it would look with 10+ years of advancements in CGI.

Good point, maybe it was because of it's current landscape shaped by a recent battle, maybe once it held a jedi temple but then was abandoned by the order to move to Tython, Coruscant etc.

Is there confirmation somewhere that the shot of Luke with Artoo is him mourning the loss of his Jedi students?

Pretty sure there is, just want to check.

seeing as to how Pablo directly said that this planet has yet to be revealed, i would say that there is no confirmation on the Luke & Artoo scene. (see @Bandini tweet to Pablo)

as for where it was, who knows! with how many new planets they're throwing our way with the comics, books, R1, etc. i wouldn't be surprised if it was somewhere entirely new, and therefore unknown, to us.

maybe Devaron from WOAJ novel, since Luke promised there at the end to rebuild the destroyed Jedi temple. By the way, the book he fought Sarko Plank on the planet Devaron. ;)
