Who will (if any) will be typecast because of his/her role and the success of TFA?

In television, film, and theatre, typecasting is the process by which a particular actor becomes strongly identified with a specific character; one or more particular roles; or, characters having the same traits or coming from the same social or ethnic groups. There have been instances in which an actor has been so strongly identified with a role as to make it difficult for him or her to find work playing other characters.

Alternatively, a director may choose to cast an actor "against type" (i.e., in a role that would be unusual for that actor, to create a dramatic or comedic effect).

This actually happened with Mark Hammil after his starring role in the original Star Wars. Also, even some accomplished actors such as Alec Guinness were typecasted in that role of a mentor type. One of the major roles Alec played after Obi-Wan in Star Wars was Raise the Titanic where he ended up playing an old wise man type and one of the remaining survivors of the Titanic. Later Alec went on also to play a culture-bending role as a Hindu spiritual man in the wonderful film A Passage to India.

As for Mark Hammil, after the success of Star Wars he bounced a round for a bit being casted in sci-fi adventure roles such as Slipstream, Guyver and my personal favorite (in which I own the DVD) Timerunner. Mark ended up seeing small roles in film and TV before he finally broke the mold with his fabulous voice acting role as the JOKER. To this day Mark still is casted in small parts but finally was able to show his acting abilities a recent film called The Kingsman, he also returned to TV as his very own Trickster character recently.

One could even argue that Billy Dee Willams was type cast as Lando.

So this brings me to this film. Which actor will be typecast in their roles because of the success of TFA?
    Ridley
    Boyega
    Driver
    Issac
    Christy
    Gleeson
    Other

Which one (if any) will become the Indiana Jones and break the mold and become a Superstar?

    Note:
There may even be one that is already because of a particular series role. Can you guess who that is?

Ya know I think Lapita nYongo or however you spell it will have the most post TFA success.

I think captain phasma played by Gwendolyn Christy will be most likely to be type casted because she sort of was already typcasted for TFA

I think that John Boyega, Oscar Issac and Domhnall Gleeson will be safe, since they already have critically liked previous movies, such as Attack the Block and Ex-Machina... They should already have been in the casting directors radars before SW.
I believe Adam Driver was also referenced for his acting range since he was cast. So he should also be ok.

Maybe Gwendoline Christie, because of the GoT character type overlap and how good she is at that type of role...

Ahh.. That's cheating.. Lupita Nyong'o already is an Oscar winning actress... :)

Christy has already been typecast. She was cast as a warrior with armor in "Game of Thrones". TFA typecast her as a warrior in armor.

I think out of everyone Daisy is at the highest risk. Being the star of such a high profile film, in combination with this being her first film, will make this the first thing most people think of when she comes to mind.

Right, from the trailers alone she goes through a wide range of emotions, so I guess that it will depend on how good she does in the movie...
I think that more than risking typecast, as in always doing the same kind of role, she could end up locked with the character, like Luke or Superman, because as @AlienofDoom said that could be what people see when watching her. Against typecasting for her is also that her character doesn't look like "type'able", scavenger-heroine?
If she is great in TFA, it should open other doors.

John Boyega is a good choice...

Feel free to create a Wager thread of this also if you would like... *Wuher* would be happy.

He'll end up playing comedic roles both protagonists AND antagonists .

I'm not sure I would consider it typecasting, then... If he is able to do protagonists and antagonists, I think casting directors would also consider him for more dramatic roles.

Can you give an example? With that description the main thing that came to mind was Jim Carrey's Riddler or Samuel L Jackson's Valentine from Kingsman... :)
I still think that if he can do heros and villains, even if always with comedic traits, it would be different enough roles for me not to count that as typecast.

I'd probably swing more towards SLJ but not as over the top as Jim Carrey .

It's not happening with John. Dude already has other high profile gigs that he is heading and staring in. For example, the Circle with Tom Hanks.

Daisy is the highest risk. Just because this is her first major role.

All of them.... but mostly Daisy Ridley and John Boyega....

Add to that Kenny Baker, Anthony Daniels, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Peter Mayhew ;)
