Rey is a cool character, In my personal opinion I think its a bit strange for boys to be dressing up as girls so my answer would be Finn or Kylo.

For boys, I think Luke for his wisdom, and Finn for knowing what's right....and doing it.

Rey's costume is gender neutral enough for anyone to wear. Finn's and Poe's too.

The post that started this thread. Yuck.

Luke was my favorite human character, but I always wanted to be Darth Vader as a little kid. Not because he was evil, but because he was dark, big, and menacing.

This time around I think little boys will gravitate towards Finn, Poe, or Kylo.

Heck maybe Han still has it.

    Except for the capri pants.

yeah i don't get this thread. There is nothing overtly "feminine" about this and they aren't setting out to hyper-sexualise rey. This is what you wear to keep out of the harsh Jakku condidtions man or woman.

Rey vs "Jakku Dewellers" - There is barely any difference.

Furthermore, rey's entire TFA story (if info is correct) is all about a loner who doesn't think they are someone, but really they are. THAT'S IT! There is no gender-based story here. Seriously, if people are scared of kids being being made fun off, beaten up or bullied because they are a "boy" who drawn towards rey's character then i'd seriously consider directing the child towards a different crowd of kids.

I would have no problem with my son admiring Rey and even wanting to dress up like her. She's badass and badassery transcends gender. And if he's anything like me, bullying him would be an unwise decision. :)

Another thing: if you really do believe that boys have a biological imperative toward traditional male role models, then you shouldn't care a whit about Barbie commercials featuring boys. If your son is so naturally drawn to typically manly things then he is likely to be entirely unaffected by anything to do with Barbie.

Other than the way Rey's outfit exposes her one shoulder, there's nothing really overtly feminine about it...

My boys won't be dressing as Rey though, they'd be dressing as Jakku scavengers if anything. Rey is a girl, so they wouldn't want to dress like her to begin with.

And I always liked Luke's ROTJ outfit the best as a kid. The white clothes always looked like poor people's clothes to me as far as the Star Wars universe went, but I suppose that was kinda the point. Han Solo's outfit was my favorite though as a kid. I loved the vest and gun belt that strapped to his leg.

What the f*** did I just watch?

You know, with all the lack of fathers, MEN, and strong male role models in our society today, the last thing we need is more of that commercial. That poor boy. That was absolutely disgusting.

I gotta ask, why is this a thing people freak out over? Are ratings given actually grounds for disciplinary actions? That's pretty absurd....someone should be able to thumb every comment down or thumb every one of them up if they want to and it shouldn't matter either way. That's how they feel, that's what the button is for, why is there an "acceptable" amount of things you can like/dislike? I love the boards, but I just don't get that or why it's anything worth fretting over...if I dislike something, it's because I genuinely dislike it, same goes for if I like it. No offense, but I don't think anyone has any right to tell me how to feel, nor do I think I should be called out or disciplined for it.

Yeah, I don't think anyone who aspired to be Darth Vader really means to kill anyone, lol, it's all in fun...

    Unless you're Kylo Ren. XD

Lmao the funny part about this is only one person so far has said to take it easy with this review.
The rest are actually continuing on with the conversation. Had this been any other star wars related forum you would've probably been banned.
Good for the cantina where people can actually express honest opinions. Even if people don't like them.
