    For me, the saddest..

    Qui-gon
    Ewok
    Shmi
Jabba (it meant the end of the gold bikini !)

    Jar jar surviving

it was sad.. but he got over it a bit too quick for my liking.

it was forgotten 10 minutes later

Yeah, he had a moment. They were basically his parents. It gave him reason enough to leave, but later, he is more bummed about Obi-Wan who he really didn't know well.

They did a sort of retcon on the junior novelisation of ANH by adding some lines between Luke and Leia in the MF, when he is all sad that Obi-Wan died when Leia lost her adopted family and her planet.

But yeah, he was not definitely mourning them that much or at least they didn't show it onscreen.

    GL missed a trick there.

The natural reaction would have been Luke wanting revenge, but instead he said the line..
nothing for me here now? i think the situation deserved a stronger reaction than that.

he should have been after blood after seeing his Aunt & Uncle like that... giving Kenobi a lovely opportunity to throw some spiel about revenge=dark side=bad.

EXACTLY! Something like "REVENGE IS NOT THE JEDI WAY!" and then we could have had that beautiful speech of Luke understanding it and then asking to go with Kenobi to Alderaan.

that's far better than what i was thinking lol.

you could even imagine some resentment toward Kenobi because of it.

I don't like saying bad things about my favorite SW film lol. no we are wrong about this scene.. it was perfect !

Dude, despite the fact that more than one ewok dies, I know exactly which one you're talking about. That's how sad that shot was!

...Out of those choices, definitely Han. Why couldn't they have stretched his life until at least episode 8? Hmm? (falcon 2)

Han Solo for me. The death of my favourite character from my favourite films, I was gutted!

Next would be Obi-Wan, although that only really became sad for me after the Prequels. Seeing how powerful a Jedi he was compared to the tired old man in ANH, definitely a sad ending!

Unfortunately, I knew about Han's death going into The Force Awakens because someone that attended the premiere spoiled it for me the day it came out. However, once the film reached that scene, for a split moment, I really did think, "Maybe Ben will stop himself, maybe he won't kill his father," and even though I knew it was coming, it still hurt, more than any other death so far in the franchise, because he was one of the "big three." It felt weird knowing that there would be more films with Luke and Leia, but that was it for Han. (I'm sure it'll feel the same way, if not worse, with The Last Jedi, just because Carrie is also gone.)

However, Cassian and Jyn's deaths were also very sad. Given the nature of the film, it wasn't necessarily surprising, but the way in which they died was really sad, yet it was also beautiful and meaningful.

All the way up to Han's death at the hand of his son, it was every death at the time it happened. Each one impacted me. That didnt happen with R1 for me though because I went into it knowing they were going to die. Anyone remotely familiar with SW knew that. But Han really hit me hard. Every death made me sad but I actually teared up and cried a little in the theater. Im man enough to admit it :D

There's no doubt that the most depressing death is Han Solos. Not just because he's such a beloved character, but because Harrison Ford's portrayal of him is so amazing throughout TFA, the relationship he builds with Rey is so moving, and Leia's gut wrenching reaction adds levity to his death. He's also so sincere when trying to save his son, but tragically struck down.
However, Qui-Gon Jinn is my favorite film character and every time I watch TPM I hope it will somehow change and he'll slay Darth Maul.
On a final note. The Ewok's death in ROTJ is extremely sad.

Definitely Han. What a sad way to die, not that dying isn't sad in any way, but to see him go out like that, after all his adventures and efforts, to be sliced by your own son and then fall down that endless shaft into oblivion was horrible. He can t even get a proper burial.
I am very interested to see how his death is taken going forward into TLJ.

But if Leia dies in TLJ, which I am pretty certain of, I think it may be the most heartbreaking...
