Which era would you like this new trilogy to be in?

I would like to see stuff about the Old Republic because it's all just legends content covering that. I'm not saying legends is bad in fact I think it's pretty great and all of it should have stayed canon. RJ will probably end up doing something far after episode 9. I also would like to see films about how the First Order came to power though.

• A Valorum is elected and presides as the first Supreme Chancellorof the Galactic Senate.[7]

Going by what we know of Cannon from those facts there could be a pretty epic story to be told.

- I would have it set 10-15 years before the Jedi-Sith war ends.
- Have a young ( 18-21 year old) Jedi in training as the main character.
- Focus on the core worlds we have not seen on screen.
- Darth Bane on the screen.
- New Republic ships
- Show the Jedi in a more aggressive way as the Jedi v Sith war gets more intense.
- New aliens.
- Old aliens


The end of the last movie could show the republic starting up with a scene in the new senate hall on Coruscant and then interlace it with scenes of Darth Bane starting up the rule of two.

There is so much they could do there and even make more than 3 movies if needed.

 

I'd like to see birth of the Je'daii (or something similar) and its division to the Jedi and the Sith, and reason which caused it. Also invention of force/lightsaber would be cool and see when prime Jedi fights Siths with a saber of light (they will probably have some normal sword or vibroswords). Also some ideology stuff from both side would be cool to get. And in visual way I'd like to see high mountains and temples placed there and rivers and forests.

While Rian has commented that he would not be making a movie based on the KOTOR games, I still feel like his trilogy will be set in a similar time period. It really gives him full freedom to tell stories isolated from the Skywalker Saga. No risk of overlap or contamination of established canon.

I also think it makes the most sense to tell the stories far far back in time, then you fill in the middle with other media if you chose to.

For me, the problem going far into the future is how far is far enough to where the Star Wars Universe collides with our own? I like not knowing exactly when in relation to our history Star Wars is.

 

Do we have any idea or a micro-tinny-little clue about RJ's ideas for this trilogy?
Do we know if he already started to work in this project?
Do we have a release date for the first movie?
Too many questions I know, but I am just making sure that I dont missed something.

 

You know, I've been kinda against the idea of another big saber conflict after Geonosis, but I don't think that should be our only metric anymore.

Arguably one of the best scenes of TLJ features a pretty large all-melee fight, and it was amazing! If we get something more like that than Jedi mindless cutting down droids, I'd be 100% down.

 

But most of the fans unfortunatly dont see that. They prefer the mess of a Battle of Geonosis instead of a great duel with excelent dialogues and a big surprise...

 

I'd be interested in leaping forward about 200 hundred years.
A lot changes in 200 years, and it would be pretty interesting to see the impact of those changes in a world with the Force and how people react to it.

Take it back to the Old Republic, plz or right before the prequels. I want to see more of the Jedi in the temple. Yoda actually teaching a Padawan. I want to see a young Mace or Qui-Gon going through the Jedi trials.

That Old Republic cut scene, where you see a female Jedi warrior is training a Padawan, the Padawan can't quite fight; she is frustrated, and uses the force to knock out her opponent. Eventually, the King takes the Padawan from the Jedi Master and continues her training with dark arts, the Sith. The Jedi Master returns to rescue her Padawan from the dark side, but she doesn't want to go with her Master, she is lost to the dark side...( how tragic i must have watched that scene a million times) she is gone like Kylo Ren.
