    I changed my vote to after sequel trilogy but I must clarify I do not want something five years after Episode 9. I want far future. I have held Horizon Zero Dawn up as a standard but that is my ideal direction for Star Wars. I would love a post dystopia take on Star Wars. [​IMG]

    I want these non saga trilogy films to potentially least damaging to the OT/EU
    Therefore I want them at least 200 years after the battle of Yavin. Maybe 1000 years or more ABY.

    I would like to see some major events happening, but the way it shown in books, animated series, or even stand alones like R1. There is enormous number of varieties for exact time. Seriously, guys, I have never been a familiar with Legends, but thanks to you (The Cantina) and Star Wars Explained channel I would love to see some Old Republic stuff, etc. Sorry, can't name any character, Revan and Kotor only. Maybe it is better to leave that era for Benioff and Weiss, but still...

    Back to characters from other media - what's about "the one in the middle" philosophy? Or Ahsoka and force sensitive children spread all over the galaxy she might have considered to rescue from Emperor's dogs. I don`t believe it will ever happen.

    Again, we have a lot of space between epV and epVI, and just one "Moving Target" book...

    Really is. Video games have really dared to do some original ideas unlike Hollywood. Horizon was masterful and it is without a doubt my favorite fictional world to come out in years.

    In my opinion I think that Rian will NOT go back on time.

    Rian will do something totally NEW.Today technology making movies is more advance and anything is possible using a top notch and update computer.The thing is HOW the story will match with this new trilogy.Broom boy can be the hidden message in TLJ from him.Star Wars is changing and I hope we can still believe in the magic that GL bring to us.Nobody can beat GL imagination.His movies was like.... tumblr_ootik4Bt6D1vgkx98o1_1280.gif

    I voted for Old Republic era, but I'm not concerned with the era, as much as subject matter. I LOVE LOVE LOVE what Rogue One did with the force. I'll explain: I love the fact that we see other force followers, users, whatever, besides the Jedi/Sith binary. I would love to see this explored further. I'd also love to see the idea of grey Jedi explored and developed.

    Yep. Totally agree here. Non jedi/sith force sensitive characters. This is why I found Maz Kanata so intriguing. If I'm remembering correctly, In a cut TFA scene, she uses the force to bring down the ceiling on invading stormtroopers yet she's of course not a jedi. I think star wars needs more characters along these lines.

    Hmmm... That deleted scene isn't on the iTunes version. Is it on the blu-ray? Maybe I'll need to get these films on blu-ray, especially if they have more than the iTunes versions.

    I think Rian should make his trilogy about 10 -50 years before The Phantom Menace. That would be a great thing for him to do, it will allow him to develop characters that are unrelated to the Skywalkers but stil affect the politics of the Galaxy.

    It still seems crazy to me that Lucasfilm/Rian Johnson don't have an idea about what this is going to be about. Perhaps they're just being tight lipped about it because it's too early to announce it with the final episode of a trilogy on the way?

    They absolutely have an idea.
    They wouldn't sign him on without at least a small idea.

    It's about fleshing it out and figuring out exactly how it fits in before you say anything.

    You can have a great basic story that could fit either before or after the Skywalker saga and it just alters a few things.

    It seems more likely to me that Lucasfilm had a list of story ideas for development and they approached RJ about one of them or asked him which one he'd like to do. Hidalgo said they had a 10 year plan so they have some idea where they're going.

    Or that they're in no rush to make it. It's not like this is the only SW thing in development - there's plenty of content created by other people to fill in the gap between ep. 9 and the first film of the new trilogy.
