    Hello fellow Star Wars fans and May the Fourth be with you.

    I grew up with the prequels and I really did enjoy them when I was younger. I also greatly enjoyed the original trilogy when I eventually watched it. ROTS was the last Star Wars title that came out, and I, along with many other fans, suffered through a seemingly endless Star Wars drought until the new movie was announced by Disney.

    During the time when the world was void of new canonical Star Wars, many fans, myself included, got into the EU. As such, I wish to ask the question that is dying to be answered: If you could take 1 Character from the EU and make him / her cannon, who would it be, And why?

    I will get the ball rolling and say that mine would be Revan: The prodigal Jedi.

    I know this isn't a shock to those of you who could discern who was in my profile picture, but I loved Revan's story in the '03 game Knights of the Old Republic, and I also loved how the player was able to chose the outcome of said story. I think that he looks pretty awesome, (and Kylo Renn's costume designer must have thought that as well;) His backstory is great; a council-defiant war hero of the Mandalorian Wars, he is a charismatic leader, and a master of tactics and warfare in general. And I also feel like The Old Republic could possibly be an outlet for a Future spinoff trilogy in the GFFA.

    If I had to pick only one, it would be The Emperor's Hand, Mara Jade.

    My reason would be that I love the Thrawn Trilogy, and I like her
    struggle with her burning hatred of Luke, Palpatine's voice
    haunting her, and the possibility that she, along with her
    exceptional skills, could surrender to the dark side.

    Feel thankful you aren't old, like me, and didn't have to wait from '83 until '99. No Clone Wars cartoon to tide us over back then!

    But that's not the point of this thread, is it?

    I never read any of the EU novels (even though they were the only new Star Wars during the time I mentioned... I don't know why I didn't), so I don't have an attachment to any of the characters you list, except maybe Revan from KOTOR. It's kind of a deep cut, but I would love it if the shipping business of the Azzameen family from X-Wing Alliance, the last of the X-Wing PC games of the '90s, got a mention in a canon source somewhere. I love that game so much, in part because of the story they constructed around the gameplay, so that would be awesome.

    @jmjawors, your very right, I suppose I am lucky. I didn't really achieve my love for the franchise until episode 3 came out. I really liked Star Wars when I was younger but I was just too young to really comprehend the saga. I didn't think anything else would ever come out. Star Wars was done, it ended with RotJ to me. When Clone Wars came out I thought it was cool but it was just the equivalent of The Clone Wars 2003-04 animated thing. But as it terns out, Clone Wars was like a new beginning of the franchise. I didn't read any novels either, I just played the games, read some comics.

    @RBanks. Good choice! and very good reasoning behind it. I never really read much about her but I really do enjoy seeing characters with an inner conflict.

    If I had to pick only one, it would be the original Emperor's Hand, Shira Brie aka Luimyna, Dark Lady of the Sith (My avatar)
    The one whom Mara Jade was based on. She first appeared in Star Wars #56 (Nov. '81)
    She was from 'Imperial Center'
    That's right! She 1st appeared so long ago that Coruscant didn't even have a name yet >_>

    Both were some of the very best the old EU had to offer, and I would absolutely hate to see them go unused in some fashion in the new canon.

    I would choose Marka Ragnos, Tulak Hord, Naga Sadow, Ludo Kressh, Freedon Nadd, Exar Kun, Revan, Darth Nihilus, Thrawn, Talon Karrde and the irresistable Mara Jade!

    I chose Darth Plaguis for my second choice. I already think they will work him into one of the sequel movies or one of the spinoffs. I wouldn't be surprised to see him as the Sith master of Kylo who would be revealed later in the Trilogy. There is always two....

    In all honesty, I don't remember too much of the EU and the characters specifically, though I read about 10 or so of the post-RotJ books. The stories have just faded from memory to be honest (and thus I was never really bothered by the redefinition of what was and wasn't canon)...

    Still, I do remember Thrawn, so I voted for him. He had an interesting story (the trilogy and his mysterious backstory, mind you, not all the gobbeldy goop the rest of the EU came up with) that I can sort of remember, and it still could fit into the post-RotJ/pre-TFA timeline with a few modifications.

    I had voted for Starkiller at first, mostly due to his origin holding the symbol of the "Rebellion." I haven't finished the second game yet, but loved the story for the first one.

    I changed my vote to one of my favorite "Dark Horse" Jedi. This Jedi managed to not only walk close to the Dark side and return to the Order before falling, but saved a clutch of Youngling's during the Dark Times, and fought valiantly from the Shadows until the Fall of the Empire. He later healed restore peace to the Galaxy during the time of the One Sith.

    My friends, let me introduce to you the 200 year old whiphid, Jedi Master K'Kruhk.

    As far as I know, he never appeared in anything close to Canon, other than the RotS novel, and the the first Clone Wars series, but I love him. He had a true character arc from the clone Wars to Legacy--and damn, he has a cool character design.

    One figure I wish I had.

    Cool choice! I don't know much about his story, but I thought that K'Kruhk looked awesome when I found out who he was. There's just something about the imagery of the whipid jedi that simply makes you like him. As I said, I've only seen him a couple of stories with him in it, but he is still one of my favorite characters. I believe he winds up living through multiple eras: Republic, Imperial, and New Republic, so maybe we'll end up seeing him, or a character based off of him, in the next group of movies in the near future.

    He makes it all the way to legacy. It puts a neat perspective on the universe. The 3 star wars trilogies emcompass a small fraction of the lifespan of Jabba, chewie or yoda. I bet some beings and cultures view the human perspective as overly petty.

    Oh, you meant that other definition of cannon. In that case, I'll go with Darth Nihilus. Although I've never played Kotor 2, I hear from alot of people saying he's one scary sith lord.
