Which Force Ghost will appear, and to whom ?

Voted for Luke haunting Kylo because of the line 'See you around, kid". It's too Shakespearean not to like.
But then I remembered reading that so far force ghosts have only appeared to Jedi.
It is likely Kylo will be redeemed then die. So what if Luke actually meant that he'll see Kylo around...when he dies as a redeemed Jedi ?
We may get to see Luke's force ghost during Kylo's final moments.

 

C'mon! Luke talked with Kylo already!
I want to raise the stakes higher. It is enough for me to see Anakin's cameo: the mortally wounded grandson learns the truth from him.

 

Been giving this one some thought.

It's almost 100% that we'll see all the canonical Force Ghosts appear to Rey. If this is really the last Saga film, it almost has to do this to feel complete. The question is, in what form will they appear?

Let's take what we know. JJ is an Original Trilogy diehard, and Lucasfilm is dedicated to the Special Editions of the Original Trilogy.

With that in mind, I believe we'll see Yoda and Luke. We'll see Alec Guinness as Obi-Wan, since this is how we last saw him as a ghost (perhaps they will use similar methods as they're using for Leia's scenes). And we'll see Hayden Christensen as Anakin, because this is the canonical version from the special editions.

We will not see Qui-Gon, even though he is canonically the first Force Ghost. This is because JJ doesn't love the prequels, and even George Lucas--who came up with this idea--didn't include him in the closing sequence of RotJ.

 

One of the things about Star Wars that saddens me is that so many of the story decisions has to do with directors like/dislike of certain movies. Anakin, who is the heart and soul of the saga should appear in some capacity. That seems like this most logical thing, as 1-VI was about his rise, fall, and redemption. I wish JJ would look at the story as a whole (“whole” meaning just that, not just as far back as episode IV.) I wish JJ would set aside his disdain for some of my favorite films and include the Hayden cameo he deserves.

 

I'm hoping for Anakin to Kylo Ren. Would be so cool.
Almost sure we'll see Luke to both Kylo Ren and Rey.

 

I really think a Hayden cameo is possible. Because, as you said, Anakin is so central. But more importantly, Hayden appeared as Anakin's ghost in RotJ. And even if JJ doesn't care for the PT, I think Lucasfilm's dedication to the Special Editions is enough to bring Hayden back.

 

I'm predicting a ghost Leia.

 

We'll definitely see Luke, hopefully Obi-Wan and Yoda too. It would be great to see Hayden Christensen as Anakin talking to Kylo Ren.

 

Personally, I always liked the special addition of seeing Hayden's Anakin at the end of Jedi. I thought it made as much sense as anything else and it was poetic in the best way.

I totally buy that Luke would know who Anakin was there. For long, drawn out reasons I won't get into...there is a connection with family and seeing someone who you never knew but you can just feel that they are blood. Besides that, I think Luke would have sensed that this young man was his father through the Force anyway. Much like in Force Awakens, where J.J. explained that Rey and Leia embraced because they both sensed one another and knew that they both had a connection to Han Solo.

That's not to say that I don't think the Sebastian Anakin didn't make sense, I think they both work. But Anakin never really existed in the 'Sebastian' form, not like Alec's Obi-Wan did. The last time Anakin was a true Jedi and a whole person, he looked like Hayden.

 

Sebastian form Anakin in Jedi Master Robes never made sense to me.

 

I think it would be cool to see black armor Vader appear to Kylo Ren, then remove his helmet and it's unscarred Hayden Christensen. He tries to talk some sense into Kylo, even sympathizing with him concerning the lure of the dark side. Or something like that.

 

Yeah, I think it'd be cool to see Force Ghost Luke appear to Kylo/Ben and tell him he's brought someone with him...

KYLO REN: I didn't believe your lies when you were alive, why would listen now you're dead?!
FORCE GHOST LUKE: I know you don't want to take any notice of me, Ben. But I brought someone you might listen to.
FORCE GHOST ANAKIN: Hello my Grandson... I am sorry, but you have been deceived by a lie, just as I was.

Another thing I want to say in this thread is, everyone is assuming Luke will be a Force Ghost (and I agree, I think he will be). But he might not be. He might actually be ressurected, Gandalf-style. I think I'd be cool with that. Although I don't know if the internet could cope with him dying again.

 

They did CGI Princess Leia AND Moff Tarkin ....

Now, I want my OG Ghost Form in TROS or heads will roll.​

My prediction:

Ben Solo and Rey look out at Luke/Leia Force Ghost as the credits roll.....

 

I would love to see the old Anakin again as a forceghost to Kylo in some way.
But I think the only forceghost that we will see in TROS is Luke showing to Rey (also super cool).

 

As someone who has only seen the special editions, given Old Ben's 'lie' it makes sense that he would use young Anakin as opposed to Vader. I'll admit a 60 something year old, talking to a 30 something year old-- where the conversation is the 60 year old talking is the son; that could look awkward.
