    First!

Hehe. Ok on a serious note i picked in order IV then VI.

Y dem? Because they had truly happy endings. If the choice was 3 i wood of picked 1 also.

Every other ending saw foreshadowing, cliffhangers or simply dark.

Han movie better have a happy ending.

The ROTJ ending trumps all, in my opinion. The finality of it, the redemption, the burning of Vader was very poignant, cheeky bit of Yub Nub. Then with the extended changes, seeing occupied parts of the galaxy now liberated was very special, and reminds us of the effects of the events across all corners of the Star Wars Universe.

I'm a sucker for a decent cliffhanger, so I remember the end of TESB being both sad, but exciting for what would come next. My friends and I would speculate in the playground at school and act out the next chapter with our figures and toys... years later I got to revisit that with my daughter when we watched TFA, where I still find myself speculating with friends - but in here rather than on my bedroom floor.

Someone actually picked The Clone Wars. Fascinating.

For me, it's hands down Ep 5.
Sure, it's not happy or loud. But beauty doesn't have to be. Han is gone, Luke is wounded, and the Alliance has been run out of their base. But it's not necessarily all dark. Lando and Chewie leave to go find Han, Luke gets a cybernetic hand, and the Alliance regroups in space. As Luke, Leia, and the droids embrace, there's a feeling that things aren't what they're supposed to be- but looking into the shining light of the galaxy, there's hope.

To me, that's beauty- and to be honest, I might say that ROTS or Rogue One would be my second pick, for similar reasons. I don't need Auggie's Great Municipal band to tell me to be happy.

Yub Nub all the way. I don't care that Lucas changed it, Yub Nub is the one true ending! Every time I hear those little ewoks sing their durpy song it makes me unbelievable happy, genuinely happy. It's such a warm and inviting ending to such a beloved trilogy.

Until recently, it would have said ROTJ hands-down. But with the Empire continuing afterwards, and the sith being replaced by other dark-side users, that one has lost it's luster.

While I've made it clear how much I'm not a fan of TFA's 3rd act, I absolutely LOVE that ending. Sure - it's a cliffhanger(literally and figuratively). But, where they say "a picture is worth a thousand words". That is a case - IMO - of a picture being worth a million words. There is so much said in that unspoken moment. DR and MH do a great job of saying so much with their facial expressions. You know that Luke's going to train her(even before the TLJ teaser) but it still incites so much wonder.

The other one that is now tops for me is Rogue One(Episode 3.9, as I call it). I love the movie, but it is essentially a very dark tragedy. But just when things are so abysmally dark, the movie ends on the brightest note. It literally puts the "Hope" in A New Hope IMO.

ROTS had the best ending in my opinion. Anakin's final transformation into Vader while his wife is dying and the twins are being born is the most poetic sequence in SW. It's as if Anakin dies at the same time as Padme. But she leaves behind the twins, which symbolize hope. She lives on through them, and so does Anakin. In episode I, one of the twins becomes "a new hope" and later on brings Anakin back. Just like Padme would have wanted. She died believing that there was still light in Vader, and she was right. Beautiful.

better than i would have put it.. but completely agree.

ROTS is my other choice. 3 & 5 are the endings that raised the hairs on the back of my neck.

I picked V because of how the music gelled with the scene and I felt a lot of underlying emotion, worry, even a bit hope, love and support between Luke and Leia. It's always been my favorite still from the films, the two of them with the droids looking out in space as the Millennium Falcon flies away.
    Sure it's a cliffhanger. Doesn't matter.

Absolutely. The raw emotion, the unknown, the quiet moment between Luke and Leia... and the music really touches your heart and soul (more so than any gungan or ewok song). As they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. But to me it doesn't get much better than this.

I went with ROTS and RO

That Vader scene was a different sort of beauty, but couple that with the death of Jyn and Cassius, and the timing of that final battle... beautiful
