    Every Star Wars movie including The Last Jedi started with scene of a camera falling on a planet.

    Which planet do you think will be in the opening scene of ep. IX?

    I'll throw out another idea...

    Possibly Dagobah? Given that Yoda hid there, and one wonders if there was something left for Rey to find (or any of the Jedi that were to follow)

    Or........

    It may not start over a planet at all, or it could be wherever the First Order operates from? Just a thought :)

    Not a planet in a First scene will be precedent.Even Rian Johnson culdn't do it,and Abrams is more conventional than him.
    Dagobah is fine idea.

    I guess Tatooine, but Jakku is also totally possible. Same with Mustafar.

    Coruscant would be cool too (they've still got to be around, right?) but I'm not sure how likely that is.

    Honestly, though- I wouldn't be surprised for a new planet, too.

    I think Rey is gona back to Ahch-To.

    I think ,even if she felt Luke has left, I think she does not know he and gigling Yoda destroyed ancient Jedi books.

    I think it would be nice she cames back to take Luke's belongings.

    Of course Force nuns will be delighted to see her again.

    Well, the remaining Resistance needs a new hideout. So far they have used old bases. I would say Hoth , Yavin, or maybe Dantooine could be a possibility, lol.

    It might not even be a planet. Remember, ESB started in outer space, and ROTJ started with the second Death Star. Also, ROTS is the only film so far to open with a planet that's been the opening planet for another film. So I'd say definitely a NEW planet.

    TPM: Naboo
    AOTC: Coruscant
    ROTS: Coruscant
    RO: Lah'mu
    ANH: Tatooine
    ESB: Outer space
    ROTJ: Second Death Star
    TFA: Jakku
    TLJ: D'Qar

    What I would like to see is the movie to start panning down to a new planet, followed by the Millenium Falcon and Poe's X-wing. And we will see Rey, Finn and Poe on a mission for the Resistance, visiting a planet which might be able to aid the Resistance in the fight against the First Order. But the welcome party will be a trap set up by the First Order, and all out of a sudden stormtroopers will arrive. Then we'll get a cool action scene showing Rey, Finn and Poe fight together. Rey will use a double-bladed lightsaber, and depending on how much time have passed since TLJ, perhaps Finn have been trained by Rey to fight with a lightsaber as well. Would be cool to see.
