Which released poster is your favorite so far for TLJ?

Official teaser that in my opinion it must be the official one. Great art, we dont need another poster after seeing that.

In one thing TLJ is already superior than TFA: The posters.

P.S. I forgot the beautiful four posters of TFA for the Imax release.

 

absolutely love the teaser poster.

impossible to choose between the others, though curiously i would say Rey's is the weakest.
it's a toss up for me between Luke, Leia, and Ren.

I really like the teaser poster but of the new character posters, I have to go with my all time favorite character, Luke Skywalker.

 

The teaser poster is my favorite. Bit of sentimental value because I got one during the premiere in Orlando and MH signed it the next day Had it framed. Now looking for the right spot in the living room.

 

SO hard to choose.. I love them all. The red look is great!

 

I like the teaser poster best. Of the new ones, hard choice between Rey, Luke and Kylo, but I am leaning towards Kylo. I just like seeing that crossguard lightsaber!

 

I like the red for the characters posters. They are using a lot of red for TLJ.
Will they pick another color.for ep. IX?

That's so true. However, I hope that Disney Marketing team brings in Drew Struzan to create the official poster for TLJ. They got him back for the teaser poster for TFA, so I don't see why he would do one for Episode VIII.

The official teaser poster is amazing. I had it as my wallpaper on my phone until I switched it to the Rey poster that just came out.

As for the character ones, I really can't decide. I love the color scheme SO much. They're really all amazing, especially the ones for Luke, Leia, Kylo Ren, and Rey (although I wish they would've shown a little more of Rey's face—it looks like they cut it off a bit too early). They look so good, though. I voted for Rey anyways, though, just because I love her so much and I think she's badass.

I can't wait to see the official poster!

 

I gotta say Leia. For what may be her final SW character poster, it is beautiful, elegant and strong just like she is. I miss my princess

 

To choose only one poster is impossible. But I love the official teaser poster, Kylo's poster and Leia's one the most.

I really like the art direction of these posters. The colour red has always been related to the dark side, and the posters themselves, since TPM, have shown the red only in relation to something "bad" happening. Remember the teaser poster for ROTS? No? I'll refresh your minds:



Ok, it was a bit ridiculous as a poster (that Vader face seems a bit... I don't know, look at the eye, it feels so strange, but it doesn't matter anymore!), but the red background, and the red lightsaber, clearly suggests the main plot twist: Anakin will turn to the dark side. So the red has a very specific purpose in terms of narrative: more red, more evil. It was the same with Maul.

What really surprised me about these TLJ posters, is that the red is everywere. Literally! When I first saw the red SW logo I thought: "Ok, this will be the darkest one, so the red". But then, I saw the main teaser poster from the Celebration, and right after the teaser trailer, with that majestic shot of Crait and its red sand. Now, the red identifies both the bad guy (Kylo Ren - I had typed Kylo "Red", but then I've corrected) and the good ones (Poe, Finn, Rey, Luke, Leia). I don't think they want to make us think that "everyone has an hidden nature", because it's quite clear that Poe and Finn will never join the dark side. I think their purpose is much more subtle: they want to make the right atmosphere, so to identify with the red not just a plot nod, but a global mood, a pervasive sense of peril, or maybe even more: a generic sense of turn, of something inesorable that will happen in any case. That would be the closest thing to TESB a SW movie could show nowadays.

Anyway, it's the first time the red is applied to the good guys. I really liked the idea.

 

i can't help but think that Rey looks like some kind of little red riding hood in her poster lol
