Throughout Star Wars, we have seen many different characters appear in many different films or shows. For example, Ahsoka, Rex, and Saw Gerrera. With the release of the first episode of BB, we got to see a familiar face again. Who? Saw Gerrera. With that, which version of Saw did yall like best? Answer the poll and feel free to elaborate with a reply. Have fun!

To answer my own poll question, I would go with the Saw we got in R1. I feel like in this version, we see more of the hero in him, of that makes sense. Sure, it is clear he has health problems and can’t fight like in the way we saw him on TCW, but I feel like his wisdom and heroism in the rebellion makes him a likable character in R1. Also, I can notice a lot of bravery, especially in this version of Saw. And lastly, I think that Forest Whitaker did an incredible job portraying an older version of Saw. I love the look, mannerisms, and voice of this Saw due to the magnificent acting. Anyway, thats just me. Im curious to see what yall think! :)

I voted Rogue One, but I liked him in Rogue One and TCW equally. I liked the idea of that idealistic resistance fighter turning into a hardened extremist over time. Since then, I feel like Star Wars has used him as a crutch. He's become the ultimate signal of the Post-PT-but-Pre-OT era. It's not annoying, but it's a bit much. He's saturated the market in a way that makes me want to ask questions that he shouldn't have to ask (aka the dreaded "why didn't you connect character ABC and XYZ?" questions). But the weird thing is that if we take the R1 and TCW events and then add just one extra appearance, I think Saw works perfectly. It's just all of them together that saturate the character.

Agreed. That was well said. He is sort of a clutch for SW. I guess people love him because he is everywhere now. Saw works really well in R1. I agree. Good point with him become an extremist. I hadn’t actually thought of that. But when you see that little gang he has on Jedda makes me realize that aspect.

Im surprised that you think Rebels Saw is better than R1 Saw but to each their own. And yeah, good point with Saw in BB seeming like a blend between R1 and TCW saw. I like it that way

I thought Forest Whitaker was brilliant and my favourite, though Clone Wars Saw was the first one I saw. I believe they are both good, but very different portrayels of the same characteur. I don't buy the character progress yet as long as we do not see more drama than just the Steela story.
I do think BB adds to the blending of these two Saw's, but
I will need more of the post-Clone Wars Saw for the two characters to blend to the point Saw is at Rogue One. By Rogue One the war has taken its toll on Saw's body to the point there's not much of him left. Not just mentally but physically too he has been through hell. Hopefully Andor can play a role there to see how that impacts him, with hopefully Forest Whitaker portraying the role once more.

Now that I have young Saw and Old saw to compare, it is hard to pick between them. But yeah, Young Saw is awesome. They both have that rebel spirit

100%. I would love too to see how Saw became the way he was. We know it is due to the war. And constant fighting and fleeing. I assume Saw will be in Andor because the time of Andor would have to be before R1 because Cassian dies in that film.

Thinking about the war movie R1 was, the Andor series might fit the origins of Saw's injuries. I don't think it is mentioned in R1 if Cassian and Saw had a history.
Andor only sees Saw when he gets Jyn after the Death Star already shot at the planet
It makes sense there was no time to talk between those characters there and then.
