Seems like he's talking about Kylo.

So he's probably not talking about Kylo. Could also be talking about Rey and outside chance he is talking to Luke. It was super duper ambiguous but I think we are meant to assume he is talking about Kylo.

My opinion is, this is the only thing from the trailer that is not a misdirect. So I think it is really about Kylo, and later Luke talking to Rey about Kylo too

Sum think he's talking to Rey. If so she's met him twice. Unlikely its Rey.

    It's probably KR.

Clearly Snoke is talking about Rey. Kylo Ren has already had some training, and Snoke instructed Kylo to meet him to complete the training. Therefore Kylo has had some training and is not raw. So it's Rey instead.

Unless porgs have force powers too....

I think Snoke is clearly talking to Kylo.

I **hope** Luke is actually talking about himself.

.....so my thinking has been that it was Snoke who found Rey and put her on Jakku. As a backup if Kylo died.

ÃŽ don't really care who Snoke is talking to (and it has 90% chance to be Kylo Ben).

But Luke's line "I've seen this raw strength only once before. It didn't scare me enough then. It does now." is a much more interesting mystery.
Should we take it as face value, and assume it refers to Kylo and then Rey ? or is it something else ?
For example, the old power could refer to Palpatine, and the new one Snoke. A case could be made for Vader/Kylo Ren as well...

    Rey.

How would I make this as tragic as possible?

By making Luke responsible for her separation from her parents because Snoke had already pulled Kylo away and was now directing his attention to a certain little girl.

Would fracture her trust in Luke and pull her towards Snoke.

Its not Kylo. Snoke doesnt need to build him up anymore. He will only use Kylo when needed. More likely Kylo loses faith in Snoke - Rey loses faith in Luke.

Sorry I'm not there on the swap. I see Kylo repenting, but I don't see how Rey could be drawn to Snoke. Do you think she will work with someone who killed billions of people with a single command? I get the appeal of the "dark side is not evil" people, but I don't thinks its happening. Too much moral relativism, cynicism and nihilism.

Didnt say she would work with him. Only that Snoke will destroy her faith in Luke and she will be pulled towards him leaving her in the middle.

Both Rey and Kylo will be alone . . .

Luke will be the Samurai adhering to Bushido.

    Snoke will be the evil.

Rey and Kylo become ninja and will follow a Bansenshukai code of ethics and will have a "Correct Mind". They will be able to stray from a righteous path as long as their motivations are not for self-gain, but to serve a uncorrupt employer.

In other words, Luke is the light. Snoke is the dark. Rey and Kylo will be left in the gray and will need to resolve their paths for the final episode (likely where Kylo is redeemed within the force - but may or may not live - and Rey becomes the next "hero").

Obviously she wont go all the way full blown ReySnoke. This will just create a separation between her and Luke.

This raw power reffers to both Kylo and Rey.

Snoke knew Ben will be powerful, but has foreseen something more, that after him comes equaly powerful girl. With controling both of them Snoke would have unlimited source of power.

She, the girl was however somehow lost for Snoke.

In the trailer, Luke also talks of Rey having the raw power.

Luke afraids of that power, and says he sough it before only once, which means while he trained Ben.

Snoke desires that power on the other hand.

Later we see Snoke says to captured and tortured Rey, "fulfill your destiny", which means "you didn't escaped from me".

Someone dumped Rey on Jakku to save her from Snoke, to split Kylo and Rey and deny to Snoke source of ultimate power.

Luke. I actually think Snoke fears Luke but for a different reason.

I think you could be right about Luke talking about himself. Vader even mentioned that he controlled his fear in ROTJ.

With Rey's potency and her potentially NOT being a Skywalker, some of this stuff is like fan fic.

If we wanna talk about untapped raw power, it's Anakin. Canonnly, he is the chosen one. Thats it. More raw power than Kylo, or Rey. Not up for canon debate. So, Luke being the direct son, defeating Vader and helping fulfill the prophecy, and Obi Wan cannonly thinking Luke is the chosen one suggests, again, incredible raw force power.

So yeah, Luke SHOULD be referring to himself, as he also has that raw power. The idea of Ben conveniently having more potential is somewhat excuseable with him still being the child of a direct decendent of the chosen one. But Rey having that power, without being part of that bloodline to me is inexcusable and hard to take seriously.

Isn't that the point of the Skywalkers, metaphorically? The fate of the galaxy LIES in the Skywalkers current balance and role in the force? They are exclusive.

Anakin falls=Jedi end, galactic empire rises
Luke rises=Fight for the light, rebellion has a chance.
Anakin is redeemed through Luke=Peace, end of the Empire.
Luke trains new generation of jedi for a while = Peace
Luke's Grandson falls = New Order rise to power
Luke dissappears = New Order strengthens, major galactic conflict.

See the trend? That'soint of the movies. Even these new ones. It's part of the continuity. It just is. It is ALL Anakin's legacy. All of this. Having a random force user be THIS significant is just hard to take seriously when the entire saga is about this family. It's a continuity issue for me, I want the protagonist of the third trilogy to continue the Skywalker story.

The whole raw potential thing is something exclusive to the Skywalker family and force mythology, both in the films up to this point and in the old EU.

So perhaps Luke is only referring to only seeing this rae strength in the form of untrained force users?

I think the words we hear from Snoke are directed to Kylo. In the end of TFA Snoke asked Hux to bring Kylo to him. I think this conversation is Snoke's comments to Kylo once they are back together.

Luke mentions seeing her raw power before I think he is also referring to Kylo.

There are a lot of red herrings in this trailer but I don't think this line is one of them. I think Snoke is talking to Kylo, doesn't really make sense for him to be talking to Rey.. It honestly sounds more like Snoke is just giving Kylo a pep talk - perhaps before sending him out to kill Leia.
