They didn't have enough arc for me to relate to any of them but the novel made me like Bodhi and K2 the best.

OMG it is hard to decide LOL. Loved Chirrut and Kay-too. And I'm definitely shipping Cassian&Jyn though there's no point on it because they're all dead. :(

Those of you who chose or would choose "other" in the poll...who is it? Pao? Lyra? Bistan (Space Monkey)? Blue Leader? Melshi? :)

I didn't like Jyn as much as I expected to, but she has a tough job- she's the first major protagonist in a Star Wars movie to only be featured in one film. Add in the fact that it's very much an ensemble cast, and a pretty colorful one at that, and Felicity had her work cut out for her.

So I wouldn't say that I disliked Jyn, not at all. Just that there was a lot more else to like in the film as well- and I'd say that in the list of problems to have, that's not a bad one.

I really liked Cassian. A lot of the characters in the entire Star Wars Saga are clear cut heroes, or villains. But Cassian really showed that sometimes fighting the good fight can be pretty messy.

    Welcome!!

And yeah, I liked Cassian too. He shows that sometimes we live within grey areas even if we are with the good guys.

It really is a hard decision to make. I've only seen it once, so I may change my mind after multiple viewings. Cassian was up there. For now though, my vote went to K2.. but I also really enjoyed Admiral Raddus. We haven't seen enough Rebel Fleet Commanders in the SW universe, in my opinion, and I thought he was a very strong and bold leader.

Limited role and screentime yes, but I thought him and K2 were a couple of the highlights of the film. And at least some of the most memorable characters, for me. Also seeing as RotJ is one of my favorites, I may be slightly biased to the Mon Calamari. ;)

Admiral Raddus's "Rogue One, may the Force be with you!" is really the only eulogy they received...and coming from such a courageous person about to make the same sacrifice makes it even more powerful.

It was hard to choose between K2 and Chirrut for me because K2 was the one who added the right amount of dry humor (like Han in the episodes) and Chirruts character concept is sthg really new in the SW universe and I was surprised about the good acting performance of Yen.
I took K2, because of his final scene.

for all the reasons you mentioned, @Choose Light, but mostly because i feel like it was his heart that changed Cassian's.

Another point for complicated Cassian. I just got The Ultimate Visual Guide and I found this tidbit in a description of his clothes:

So, he isn't just prepared to kill others to save the Rebellion, but himself as well.

Admiral Raddus (he is just too cool) and Chirrut to me. I think he embodies what Lucas imagined about the jedi pre-prequel era (before he was influenced by the EU's boring monk portrayal). The mystical samurai (mixed with the European knight). He is how I imagined some of the jedi before the PT made them into a bunch of boring people sitting in circles.

And I think Rogue One depiced his character suprisingly deeply. His walk towards the swich is the most powerful scene from the entire movie to me.
I think he was trying to achieve harmony with the force in his entire life. And he reached it with the master swich scene (then died with a smlie on his face).
He fearlessly walked against certain death becaus he believed in the help of force so much. I think his character shares some similarities with Desmond Doss (Go and watch Hacksaw Ridge if you haven't already, its amazing). He believed in something so much he defeated fear and doubt and achieved something incredible (thugh in Desmond Doss's case it was real).

And the best thing is, that the movie didnt really explained if he had connection with the force or not. Was the entire thing just coincidence and luck? Maybe...
But I think this fact just improves his character and the message behind it. Believe in something. Grasp the idea and embrace it. Whether its religion, graduating, getting a job, get yourself in shape or even just surviving the end of the workday... Trust and believe. Make yourself a better human being. Defeat your doubts and weaknesses and believe in victory.

My top 3 would have to be Jyn, Cassian, and Krennic. I find them the most interesting out of the whole new cast of characters

No honorable mention for Blue Leader, tho? :p
