    A new harasser because they have to introduce the new characters very quickly into the movie while expanding on the other new-ish characters while giving the old ones more dialogue
    .

    Personally I would hope Luke Skywalker or Rey get the first line, picking up right after Episode VII.

    A while back I mentioned there could be a quick resumption of the Rey/Luke scene before the crawl.

    Here are a couple ways I imagine this could work:

    "A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away..."

    [cut to Luke and Rey on Ahch-To]

    Version A:

    Luke (completely mystified): How? I -- I thought (tearing up) -- I thought I lost --

    Rey (gasps): It was you. You left me! You --

    Luke embraces Rey.​

    Cut to the EPISODE VIII crawl, wherein we are told Luke is training his long lost daughter....​


    Version B:

    Rey (impatient, still holding out the lightsaber): Take it! Please.

    Luke: No. It's yours now. Keep it. You'll need it soon enough.

    Rey (confused): But... I don't understand. I --

    Luke: Come with me, Rey. We haven't much time, and I have much to tell you.

    Rey: You know my name! How do you know --

    Luke smiles, walks toward some stairs leading to an entrance in the rocks, motioning her to follow him.

    Rey (talking to herself): Why do I have a bad feeling about this?

    Cut to the EPISODE VIII crawl....​


    Just some random possibilities among many other ways this scene could play out =)

    The one thing I like about this particular format is that it enables instant continuity with Episode VII while also allowing an immediate time jump and more traditional opening after the crawl.

    "Who talks first? You talk first? I talk first?"

    Either Luke will talk first, since a response would be appropriate in light of Rey giving him the lightsaber, or he says nothing - as in TFA - and this prompts a question or comment from Rey to the effect of, "I've been sent to find you based on the map we found. The Resistance needs you," etc...

    I don't think it will be Luke, I could be wrong, but i wouldn't want it to be Luke.

    I am guessing that TLJ will not start on Ach-To after the crawl but in space, on a ship or star destroyer. Hux could be a possibility or an extra with maybe just one line.
