In Chapter 13: "The Jedi" Ahsoka gave Mando/Din Djarin the quest to bring Grogu to the ancient Jedi planet Tython. There Grogu can connect with the force and send a siginal to other Jedi throughout the galaxy.

The question is- who will hear and follow that call? Here are some options:

    LUKE SKYWALKER:

    Sebastian-Stan-Luke-Skywalker-Mandalorian.jpg

Now this would be a brave move. We could see Luke in his prime. But who would play him? Mark Hamill? Or maybe Sebastian Stan?

    Ezra Bridger:

    ictvjinrfts41.jpg
Ahsoka had her live-action debut, so why not Ezra too?

    Cal Kestis:

    in-defense-of-cal-kestis-jedi-fallen-orders-dorkiest-padawan.jpg

Seeing an older and wiser Cal would be interesting. We already have the right actor for him- Cameron Monaghan.

    An non-canon Jedi character:

This is the chance to canonize characters like Kyle Katarn or Mara Jade.

    Mara-Jade-V-Sacrifice.jpg

    An unkown Jedi:

We could also get a completely new character.
    jedi_master_robe.png

    Nobody:

Last but not least, maybe they will meet no one after all.

What do you think? What will they have in store for us?

A character where all the leg work in getting the fans invested in them happened in a different medium but everyone is exited to see them in live action for the first time or again and we will swear up and down we will see them again later on because that's how the structure of the show works.

    or something

I voted with my heart for Cal...

    Cal art.jpg

...but I think our little Grogu may refuse to reach out at all because he wants to stay with Din so badly. Then he will have made his choice...whether wise or foolish!

    My honest vote: Nobody.

I think he will go up to the seeing stone, he will hear all these Jedi voices in a Force vision, and we'll be on the edge of our seat with him waiting to see who answers the call.

But nobody does. Heartbreak falls over Grogu's face.

But then Mando, his dad, is behind him with a hand on his shoulder. That's his true family. That's his belonging.

And I will cry like a baby.

    I. Am. Not. Crying.

But yes. Din is now his family. And they will go ahead together, looking for some other Mandalorians and maybe joining the fight to recover Mandalore.

Of the characters suggested in the poll, I would guess either Luke or a new character. Although, I think Leia is also a viable option and would love to see her again <3

That’s my gut feeling as well & personally I’m not sure about splitting up Din & The Child as they have really only started to rub off his n each other this season & I don’t want this developing Farther / Son relationship or even just plain friendship to end.
Now when he reaches out with the force he may connect with another force user & have a chat with them but I don’t think they will physically show up.

Now I'm even more anxious for the episode. So many crazy and wild things can happen! Whether it be Din discovering old jedi stuff in the temple including information of Mandalorians as enemies or of Tarre Vizla being the first mandalorian jedi and all about the dark sabre, jedi appearing or not, Moff Gideon surprise attacking with his dark trooper or maybe Din leaving with Grogu as his official foundling for good!

I also want Grogu to keep wanting to stay with Din and Din to finally fully embrace being Grogu's father figure than just seeing himself as a protector on a mission

I think the Yoda species should be called Yoda or variations thereof. Posit: Original Yoda species planet could have been destroyed with pieces or sections FORCE pulled to planets where all the species have migrated to so they can have the soil to build a settlement around. A thousand generations of Jedi? Jon and Dave have a vast amount of stories that could be told. Thank you George Lucas. You've given us an incredible universe to explore and play in.

When you have an important Child to guard, your place is with that child. No one else is going to have the dedication to protect, find the right characters to help said Child, and find the courage to move on when stopovers prove to be interesting bumps in the road to final goal.

    Kinda conflicted with this one.

Hadn't considered "nobody" until this post, but it would kinda maybe be a good way of handling things. Doesn't entirely fix the "Rey Palpatine" switch in TROS (since it's not quite about heritage this time), but Grogu Nobody is still kind of a thematic addressing of it.

And I am getting a little apprehensive of all these cameos...

But at the same time... I dunno. I feel like if nothing happens, there is a little bit of a letdown, too. That's a gamble that TLJ took with Rey Nobody, and while it certainly resonated with fans it was also extremely divisive. I'm not sure it'd be smart to go such a similar route again.

    So, assuming someone does come:

Luke: The de-aging in TROS wasn't terrible, and they could play some further tricks to make it less uncanny- covering his face in a hood, using Sebastian Stan (hey, the fan casting worked for Ahsoka!), etc. And it would be such a cool things for fans to see Luke slightly post ROTJ, it may be worth it.

Ezra: Given this season, Ezra seems like he has some pretty obvious ties to characters Din's already met. It could give us closure on his story if we're not to get it wrapped up in other media, and would genuinely seem pretty cool. Plus, I'm not I entirely believe Kohli that he wasn't teasing something a few months ago. And besides, if there is a Jedi character, they're probably the best kept secret of the season, which now makes sense considering that even Ahsoka was almost common knowledge during production.

Cal: I'm skeptical of this. I think Cal's story is going to be tied to the games for now, and I'm not sure he'll even survive his final game- or, at the very least, the studio wouldn't want an unrelated show to remove that possibility so early on. Part of what was so tense in JFO was the idea that Cal might very well not survive (especially in that final arc), so it'd not be a great move to take that out of future games.

Old Canon or entirely new character: This is an awful lot of potential build up for someone that we wouldn't already have a canon connection to- I mean, we basically "traded" in Ahsoka for them storywise. I know there are some big fan Jedi out there, but I'm a little skeptical on this one.

Force Ghosts: If there is a Force ghost, it'll likely be Yoda. Could maybe even shed just a tiny bit of light on their species, and might encourage Din to bring Grogu back to his people. Though, thematically with the show, I'm not sure that fits.

Overall, I'd say most likely are Luke, Ezra, and Yoda.

Anyway, that's really just one element of what happens on Tython. Do we think that it will be the final scene of the season (like Ach To in TFA) or that a bigger conflict will take place there (likely with Gideon)?

After all, I'm sure this is old news by now, but last night I just realized that with the Beskar spear Mando now has a weapon to use against the Moff's Darksaber.

I think it'll be Ezra, because he's the only one who would make sense from the story perspective. My guess (hope i'm wrong) is that he's going to reach out to someone but in the process of "reaching out" Moff Gideon has located The Mandalorian on Tython and they'll have to leave or fight him and we won't know who Grogru reached out to until Season 3 (since we know there is a green light for it). The person he "reached out" to would the cliffhanger at the end of season 2.

Hmm... I wonder if Grogu's "reaching out" (great parallel to TLJ, too) could somehow interfere with Gideon's clones or Darktrooper projects, pointing them to the location of the Child?

Then again, apparently there's a tracking beacon on the Razor Crest already anyway... which, come to think of it, seems surprising that Gideon's troops never moved in on Corvus.

I don't know. But if I have the first concepts for EPIX in my mind.
Din and Grogu reach the top of this old Jedi temple mountain and like they were told in the last Chapter the whole thing works like a turbo booster for "Messaging via living force".
Therefore Grogu puts his hands on the ancient rock and reaches out..
and I personally believe that there will be no direct doubtless "connection" to anyone special BUT it will somehow reach nearly every force sensitive being in the GFFA.
Maybe not only the "Bogans" out there. Perhaps also the darker force users.
I'm really curious what the outcome of this "Force messaging" will be.
Will they get what they expect..?
