Yeah, I'm not sure why this is a question. Ewan McGregor has said he is more than willing to come back, so assuming he is still on board then there you go. IF he can't/won't come back, then I'd go with Kenneth Branagh all the way.

Rumor is that preproduction has started with a Christmas 2020 release. I wish we would get something official.

If no Ewan then wait another decade for the tech to get even better and then do cgi thing like they did for Peter Cushing and maybe make it a cross between Ewan and Alex

I want Ewan as Obi-Wan and Joel Edgerton back as Owen Lars, both have aged 20 years since the prequels and I'd enjoy seeing an adventure in the Outer Rim potentially involving some of the shady characters we know exist on Tattoine. No need for lightsabers but jedi skills definitely. Eliminating some kind of threat to Luke is enough as the mcguffin - if that were a certain bounty hunter in the employ of the Hutts even better. Imagine if Jabba somehow became aware of the existence of Luke - what would that be worth? I digress...

This is my dream casting for this film.

    • Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan "Ben" Kenobi: An aging Jedi Master and former mentor of Darth Vader who lives in a self-imposed exile on Tatooine. McGregor explains that he signed up for the role in a heartbeat. "Both myself and the fans have been wanting to see this story about Obi-Wan told on the big screen for a long time, it was a no-brainer for me. It's a chance to revisit this character whom is now in a very crucial point of life. He's plagued by very dark memories of the past, and he's struggling with it, coping with it, questioning his very own existence. This is kind of when he comes full circle and realizes what has to be done." To prepare for the role, McGregor gained about 15 pounds in muscle mass. "It's a much more physical role than in the prequels. We're doing some really spectacular things in this one, and I'm not necessarily talking about lightsaber fights."

    • Karen Gillan as Aurra Sing: A feared and highly skilled bounty hunter who's been tracking down and killing surviving Jedi for money since the rise of the Empire. "It's a fascinating character" says Gillan, "Even though she's clearly evil, there's this certain elegance about her that you just can't help liking. She's just fabulous."

    • Joel Edgerton as Owen Lars: The stepbrother of Anakin Skywalker and caretaker of his son, Luke Skywalker. Edgerton describes the character as being "Very different from what you've seen before, more layered and complex with morals that will surprise you. Although he's not the main villain of this film, his suspiciousness of Obi-Wan and his Jedi ways will be felt strongly. You have to remember that this is a post-Republic galaxy where the Jedi are still viewed as traitors."

    • Samuel L. Jackson as Set / Mace Windu: A former Jedi Master suffering from amnesia whom was presumed dead after Order 66, and comes to Tatooine in search for answers after receiving a vision. Jackson calls it "Definitely not the same role as before. Remember how I got electrocuted and thrown out of a window last time? Well, that sh*t tends to do crazy stuff to your brain. It's hilarious but fun at the same time, because you don't really know what to expect from him. Is he good? Is he bad? You tell me!"

    • Bonnie Piesse as Beru Whitesun Lars: The wife of Owen and mutual caretaker of Luke Skywalker. Piesse describes her role as "Small, but very important to the story. She doesn't always agree with her husband's way of thinking, and that's obviously going to cause some tension between them."
Additionally, Liam Neeson briefly reprises his role as Qui-Gon Jinn in a Force vision, and Jimmy Smits reprises his role as Bail Organa.

    James Earl Jones
also reprises his role from previous films as the voice of Darth Vader, who is physically portrayed by Spencer Wilding and Daniel Naprous. For the unmasked scene, Hayden Christensen provided both the voice and physical performance to the role.

If you cant get Ewan its simple dont do it.

Also if you cant get George Lucas or Dave Filoni to write the story, stay away from Obi Wan.
