    Who're we gonna call?! FEMINISM! lol but really though...if you do a reboot, then do it right...this shouldn't have been marketed as a "reboot" but rather as another generation that happens to live in the same universe as the old ones without using old tropes and characters/gender-swapping...now if they had made it wholly original then I'd be a fan...don't make it all females for the sake of it which is how it feels for me..

    I'm trying to not read too many reviews so I can judge for myself. But general consensus seems to be that mainstream audiences will probably like it. the cast is apparently great, the story is just a a bit derivative and they rely on call backs to the original way too much.

    Actually, as I type that out,m that's pretty much the exact critical consensus for TFA as well.

    In the end, it seems to be a mixed positive. Neither the haters nor knee jerk defenders will be happy and will each cry bias and that the results are skewed by agendas. In the end, it just sounds like a mediocre movie that's pretty funny and has some very funny performances. Specifically McKinnon who is supposedly wonderful in it.

    Yeah, I'm not saying they are on par as far as quality. I just found it amusing as I was typing that and realized that its basically the same review for TFA and GB. I assume the spectacle and fun of the SW resurrection was more powerful than the comedy of Ghostbusters for critics. Because with TFA the overuse of callbacks and rehashed plotting was seen as a minor quibble. Here critics seem to think it is a more significant drawback. Hence the 20 points of difference on the tomato-meter so far.
