It seems like throughout season one of the Mandalorian, one of the big questions will be who will receive Baby Yoda in the end. After a lot of thought, it just hit me. I may have an answer...

    Ezra Bridger.

Ezra theoretically is alive during this time period and is an adult. This works well because he could literally be portrayed by any actor which is one reason this is still a possibility.

It makes sense that a previous Jedi would get a hold of Baby Yoda because only another Jedi could teach Baby Yoda the ways of the force. Ezra as a fit to the plot makes sense. He has received force messages from Yoda in the past. Ezra is an ally to Sabine Wren, a Mandalorian. Ezra has dealt directly with Palpatine.

From a continuity standpoint, Ezra makes sense because Dave Filoni helped Jon Favreau with this series. Continuing the lore of the Clone Wars series and Star Wars Rebels makes sense here. A Loth Cat is even spotted in Friday's Mandalorian episode.

The formula for this series thus far is actually a bit similar to how Dave Filoni approached Star Wars Rebels Season 1. In Season 1 of Rebels, most of the episodes are one-off episodes with ties to a greater overarching story that leads us back to Ahsoka Tano. There is a rumor that Ezra and Ahsoka's voices can be heard calling to Rey in TROS. The last episode of the Mandalorian airs just after TROS. Don't be surprised if Episode 8 ends on a big cliffhanger...
    (yoda)(ghost) (ezra)(sabine)(ahsoka)(chopper)(yoda 2)

I'd love to see more characters from the animated series in live action, but I don't know how well Ezra Bridger or Ahsoka Tano would mesh into this series, even for just a quick cameo. Would Mando even trust them? I doubt it. Who would he trust? And who would be easy to incorporate into live action? Sabine Wren with her Mandalorian helmet on!

I imagine a scene where he gives The Kid to her and says he doesn't want to know where she takes him, so that he can never be forced to divulge the information. All she says is that she knows someone who can help him, and we know she is referring to Ezra and Ahsoka.

It all depends on if they've found Ezra in the unknown regions at this point in the timeline, or they just take The Kid with them on their search. Either way, the farther away The Kid gets, the safer he is, and the unknown regions sound like a great option.

I like the Ezra or ahsoka idea. And because its tv and not movies, it's less of a worry to confuse the general public. Filoni's involvement doesnt hurt the possibility either. For that matter, maul's inclusion in solo and saw guerrerra in rogue one opened the door for cross-pollination between tv/other media and film, so why not on mando?

However, I don't think they went to talk to Lucas just to ask how an infant would behave. I bet that by the time the mando hands him off, it will be to yoda's homeworld.

Related question- does the mandolorian hand off the baby at the end of season 1 as many seem to suspect? I cant help but wonder if favrue and filoni go full lone wolf and cub and baby yoda is with mando till series' end...

An entire home world of force-sensitive Yoda species? I hope they show up in The Rise of Skywalker!
