SPECULATION Who's in the BACTA tank??

I don't believe it has...I'm just playing the what if game. It would be awesome, whoever's in the tank!

 

I still think it would be cooler IF it was Maul with Vader bending down since Vader has no idea who Maul is and maybe Maul manipulated Vader into saving him as Vader is pretty vulnerable but the ex-Sith ends up somehow barely escaping with his life.

 

That scenario would contradict what happening in Rebels; I'm under the impression that Maul and the Emperor are not on the best of terms...keep in mind the Emperor is near; how we know this, his royal guards are present. Also I don't think Vader is kneeling down to anyone other than the emperor. I agree it would be cool to see Maul but I don't think it's going to happen.
No me ... will see me ... hope to see using his me !!!!

 

Sadly with the bracts tank the issue there is that we need to lighten up the picture to figure out if we can notice any more crazy details that could help rest our theories .

 

I agree; though our theories will never rest until we see the movie!

 

It was a comic mini-series by Dark Horse in the early 90s that took place after RotJ. The basic plot was that a young Palpatine was popping up all over the galaxy. It turned out that Palpatine had set up a private cloning installation that produced clones of himself, and he had the power to transfer his consciousness from one clone to the other. It was precisely as silly as it sounds.

 

This idea is also in last year comic Star Wars Annual #1 (2015)...except he is older.

 

It sounds just like TFU, except much worse and cheesier and wouldn't fit with the general Star Wars aesthetic even though there's a bacta tank...

 

Pardon me if someone has brought this up...In the Rogue One trailer the scene with the cloak figure kneeling before what we presume to be a Bacta Tank we see the Emperors Imperial Guards posted on either side of the tank; my first thought was not only would we possible see Vader but even the Emperor himself. We've heard rumors (which are most likely true) about Vader being in the film, but to have Ian McDiarmid come back and reprise his role as Emperor Palatine would be even cooler.

Several weeks have passed...

Well I'm not as optimistic as I first was and this is why. In the Lando comic series (which is cannon) the Emperor has his imperial guards posted on a imperial luxury yacht that contains Sith artifacts and the Emperor is not on board, and makes no mention of him being on board...so just because we see his imperial guards posted here in this scene (Rogue One) doesn't mean we are going to see the Emperor himself; that being said, I hope I'm wrong about this and and we are surprised and graced with his royal presence.

 

Does anyone else think it might be Forrest Whittakers character on his knees in front of the Imperial Guards?
He's not a small man either.
His image hasn't turned up in any of the good guys pics that I've seen, maybe he's a bounty hunter working for the Empire?

 

Actually, I’ve considered this. It would match with the irregular silhouette around the shoulders of the cloaked figure, as the characters wears this shoulder guard on his armor.

On the other hand, the kneeling looks to smooth for a man using a walking stick. But who knows, maybe he’s faking the limping to give a weak impression when being a double agent with the rebellion.

 

But he apparently wears all that bulky armor so it would show through that weirdly SITH-like robe, right?

I memory serves me correctly, he was actually in the hanger when the doors opened and Maul was standing there. He had jumped into the Naboo fighter. He would have seen them then.
