    I always found IG-88 to have a cool design. And I also have memories of this old pop-up book/comic called Battle of the Bounty Hunters where it tried to steal Han from Boba to get the bounty.
    I would wear the hell out of this.

    The bounty hunters are fundamental to SW for me.

    Zam Wesell was very similar to a character I had written before I first saw the PT and she inspired me to write more.

    Also, I had a friend around that same time who wrote herself into SW as a relative to Jango Fett. Those stories were my first introduction to the fandom.

    Word is that they thought about it early on, but they figured that having him do Akira-esque stuff like he did in Genndy Tartakovsky's series would be difficult to animate and that Cad Bane already filled his role in the stories they were telling.

    When they briefly talked about Durge at a Star Wars animation panel at Celebration last year, I was the only person in the entire room who clapped when his name was dropped by either Filoni or Hidalgo. And bear in mind, when Filoni mentioned Princess Mononoke as an influence, a significant portion of the audience applauded. It was kind of awkward.
