Who's your favorite Luke from Star Wars?

That a difficult decision, I'll give it a try.

 

ROTS Baby Luke, obviously.

 

Probably TLJ Luke, with ANH coming in second and ESB not too far behind in 3rd.

 

You forgot Force ghost Luke from TROS.

These are the best Luke: TLJ, TESB and ROTJ (I voted for the three). And if I had to pick one is the one from TLJ.

The Last Jedi Luke - The most human of them. Still learning from his mistakes. Also is the best work of Mr. Hamill has an actor.

 

Man, it's really hard to pick between ROTJ and TLJ, but I went with ROTJ.

One other one I might add to the poll is Battlefront II (2017) Luke. That might honestly be my third pick.

 

Luke is at his best when tasked with overcoming immense odds and everything he thought he knew is in question.

Luke in ANH is actually boring to me. He's a very (purposefully) cookie cutter type of hero. Part of why people love Han (imo) is that he's actually more interesting than Luke when we first meet them.

So for me, the best Luke is the Luke we get from ESB to ROTJ to TLJ. The three films contain a beautiful and tragic arc that ends with a glorious flurry of lessons and wisdom with possibly the most Jedi act we've ever seen on screen.

 

Return of the Jedi Luke

 

I went EU Luke. There were so many unanswered questions in his head involving the Force, post-OT. We were able to see him work through those and grow. Don't get me wrong, I love OT Luke same as everyone else, but the exploration and growth we saw (I was a big fan of Zahn's Thrawn Trilogy) allowed me to delve into his character more. And this opinion may not be too popular, but Truce at Bakura (from what I remember -- it's been 30 years!) really explored his more psychological side.

EU god mode luke or TLJ luke

 

Wow. I am going with TROS Luke because he's moved into self-forgiveness and has taken his place as an 'elder statesmen' (or Dad) to Rey. I know that TFM don't like the ST Luke. But I love him, he comes across as so human and behaves exactly the way that I would expect a 50 something man and for all intents and purposes ex soldier to behave, who has gone through the ups and downs of life. He has all the shades of a real flesh and blood human being. Of course I should state TLJ, I loved the way he handled Kylo, despite his state he showed such restraint. He's too old and very secure with himself to indulge or try and get into a ___________ measuring contest with Ren. That's the sign of a true strength and power. And the ultimate demonstration of kicking ***. .

 

ROTJ Luke.

He was everything a Jedi should be. He had mastery over The Force, faith in the good of people and of his father , he had insight into his friends and those he grew close to, he was supremely calm in all manner of situations. Also, perhaps the most amazing line in the OT 'You've failed your highness...I am a Jedi, like my father before me'. It was everything to see the farm boy become the man he was destined to be.
