Whose death did you think was the saddest?

I dunno if I posted on here before, bt K2SO had a really sad death for a droid. R2 is like kenny from South Park he dies in every episode, but K2 man he was brutally shot to death. Meanwhile saving his friends and completing his mission. He's an honorable mention for me.

 

Ooh, I might agree with that one.

 

Rogue One was very hard. Chirrut and Baze made me very sad but K2 was particularly brutal. Luckily, I think I'm finally over it and can watch RO without stressing out too much.

Luke is extremely sad even though there's definitely "peace and purpose" at the same time. I think his death was pretty much perfect, but it still hits hard when you see THE hero go.

I see a lot of people voted Han, but honestly, I wasn't very sad... It's because of how the scene was made. So telegraphed. Plus, his death was a safe bet anyway, so it wasn't a shock... I was a bit sad during that moment for a couple of initial viewings, but I don't think it made me tear up.

Yeah, i mean from the long view the sadness of Disney Wars is trumping the happiness.

 

Qui-Gon Jinn's. Not doubt. Because his death was not only the death of an awesome and charismatic character, but also the death of Anakin. That's the genius of TPM - Lucas SHOWED us that Qui-Gon was probably right: Anakin was phenomenally talented. The thing is, Qui-Gon should've been his teacher. Only him. With him, Anakin wouldn't go looking for a friendly Senator. He'd never trust Palpatine. He'd never be angry at his teacher for simply being different. I love Obi-Wan, but he was a wrong teacher. That's the tragedy. With Qui-Gon, the hope for the Jedi and Anakin died.

 

Rogue One. *sniff*

 

I think the saddest is Satine in Clone Wars. Han I was expecting even though I didn't want it. Same for Rogue One. If I had more history with Obi-Wan it would be him, but when I saw A New Hope I was young and we just met him. Same for Qui-Gon. Padme's and Luke's left me more frustrated than sad. Maul's was a great scene. Kanan's is third. After reading that Yoda was suffering and in pain before his death that's probably number 2.

Satine's was not expected and was rather brutal for a "Cartoon". Her and Obi was some of the best stuff for me in Clone Wars. I was gutted.

 

Luke Skywalker's death because he died alone without any friends or family.

I pick Obi Wan. For me, it was one that I definitely see coming. Could be because I was 7 too. Kanan came in a close second though, spent a lot of time with him the 4 years.

 

Han's death didn't affect me that much, and there were a number of reasons for that. There was the spoiling of myself at the Star Wars Leaks reddit forum, resulting in me expecting Han to die. There was the film-making style during that section of TFA- I felt it was very heavy-handed with the light/dark thing, the music, and the knowledge that really, they couldn't have sustained that level of drama if he just, you know, gave Han the lightsaber. I never cried during that section in all the times I've seen TFA. On the other hand, I've seen Rogue One many, many times, and I think I've cried every single time. This is even more incredible to me because even the first time I saw it, I knew it was likely they would all die. For me and my various emotion buttons, that third act was a total home run.

 

The rouge one team hit me the most. Especially this one . . .
