Carrie Fisher no doubt. Too young.. and no telling how better TROS would have been w/ her actually in it.
I would have totally geeked out seeing Luke and Leia take on Palpatine.

I voted Kanan because during that moment you think “Oh there’s no real Danger to Kanan” and then it hits you and you think he will come back but he doesn’t.

I cried and couldn’t get over it for days

Obi-Wan for me. His last look to where Luke and Leia are together in the corridor, probably the first time he has seen both since their birth, makes it a more poignant moment, making himself 'at one with the force'.

(I do know this was well before Leia being retconned as Luke's sister, and obviously before the birth of the twins in TROS for which he is present, but the later change does give this scene more meaning, and his sacrifice in looking after Luke for so many years (and maybe even Leia too on occasion depending upon the new Obi-Wan series? ;))

On the list: Satine, Qui-Gon, and Padme. Off the list, Kit Fisto, Aalya Secura, and that one Jedi boy that died in front of Bail in ROTS. I was around his age when I first saw the movie, maybe a tad older, so I felt similarly...

In terms of the emotional depth and timing of a death, I think it's Han Solo. That's not a knock on any other death in the franchise, it's just that that was a character that had several movies to breathe and grow, decades to linger in your mind, and then a sudden, striking, and thematically appropriate death that served a purpose. It might be the most well-done piece of the sequel trilogy.

I selected multiple options in the poll. But, Qui-Gon Jinn was the safest death for me. It's also one of my favorite John Williams pieces... Duel of the Fates.

I definitely agree with Carrie Fisher but I voted anakin and not when he dies as darth but when he loses himself on mustafar and the evil takes him. But in terms of actual on screen death I have to say Han Solo. For me and most other people it’s the fact he dies by the hand of his own son :((

Admiral Ackbar's death upset me, I hate how he just got farted out into space like some generic background extra.

That's hard to choose but one of the main ones was Han Solo's death. He was such a prominent character and for him to die from his own son was hard. The entire Rogue One group dying was hard too. You really grew to love the characters throughout the movie and it was hard to see them die. They fulfilled their purposes but you could feel as if they had more to offer to the galaxy. Then Kanan Jarrus' death was hard as well. He was easily one of my favorite characters in the Rebels series and him dying was not easy.

I actually felt very sad the way they ending up killing of Han Solo just his whole character in the movies was a mode changer for certain scenes. I understand that Kylo Ren aka Ben was going through conflict, but just knowing Han solo fell to his death and his body most likely turned into liquid slushy from the fall hits me hard like the people falling out of the Twin towers during 9/11.

The porg that was eaten by Chewbacca, while the other porgs watched in horror, didn't even make the list.

Han Solo by far. Had the most feeling to it. And the way it was done was heart wrenching and cruel.

Shocked to see that so few said Anakin. When he asks for Luke to take off his mask so he can see him with his own eyes, and then for him to acknowledge that Luke was "right" about him all the time... this scene is so damn emotional and hits on all the right levels. The build-up for his death is also a journey in itself. So much has been built up for this very moment, and when it finally hits you that Anakin's life is over you can't help but feel for him, Luke, and so many others.

I think Driver and Ford nailed that scene...I really wish they'd had more father/son interaction in the ST. I did read somewhere that Abrams wasn't happy about Ford stroking Driver's cheek, but he(Ford) insisted on the scene and it was labelled the most memorable in the film.

This is the only part of TROS that actually moved me.

Hey... Why isn't Ben on here? Like, Kylo Ren. Ben Solo. Ben Skywalker. He was really sad.

Well, yeah. Decent enough. But they did own Shmi Skywalker, remember? What was up with that?
    --- Double Post Merged, Feb 19, 2022 ---
I was super surprised that more people didn't vote for Qui Gon Jin. He was such a good character. Liam Neesan gave him so much, when we knew very little about his actual person.
