classic seduction/abuse mentality. this is why women don't leave their abusive boyfriends and children don't blow the whistle on their molesters.
psychologically it's less to do with fear of some threat than confusion over being complicit in the abuse to begin with.

I did read your post, and my apologies if it sounded like I was disagreeing with it. My comment was further ahead with the sole idea of having Leia being Snoke. Just no.

Maybe her being/harboring Snoke is why Ben turned into such a sh*t (but I would not call him a space Hitler at this point - more of a space Pol Pot).

Don't worry, people. Ben will exorcise the Snoke out of Leia and it's back to one slightly smaller family.

"I would burn down the whole galaxy if I thought it was right". Princess Leia, "Aftermath: Life Debt"

Ooo, that seems pretty villanous to me, especially if her "right" didn't align with my "right".

Leia has always had a bit of Dark side in her. but torturing her own son into murdering her husband? doesn't even begin to have any logic i can follow.

This Snoke-Leia thing a very original idea, but how in the world does it fit with the canon--TFA and its novelizations, Aftermath: Life Debt, Bloodline, etc.?

Well her father tortured her. Try to think of Snoke as a separate personality, like Mr. Hyde, she is not aware of.

but for what purpose? even crazy people have an internal logic. which becomes even more critical in a narrative setting.

I don't have any of the source material nor the time to do a thorough cross-reference, but I think Snoke as Leia fits pretty well. Mainly since "Bloodline" establishes when everyone in the galaxy but Luke, Leia, and Han learn of Leia 's parentage and therefore Ben Solo's probably strengths. Going through the possible candidates for Snoke (emperor or one of his inner circle, imperial military, ancient alien) it does not seem likely that any of them would have known about the Vader connection and had access to a young Ben over a period of time. That leaves Leia the most likely. Plus how many people have actually mentioned Snoke besides Kylo Ren, Hux, Leia, and Han? They might be the only ones aware of his existence.

even if he's "imaginary", there's no reason Snoke ever had to have actual physical contact with Ben.
if anything we're being led to believe that he didn't.

the only relationship Leia is likely to have with Snoke is this one:

    Snoke=Leia???

Snoke orders Hux to destroy the Ileenium system... where Leia was.

i do love a wild theory, but i'm not sure this one stands up. :)

And it would explain why Luke is away, he will never be able to kill his sister. He maybe tries to find a solution to free her from Snoke. ;)

Remember Carrie Fisher says she used to party alot. Perhaps that's where the facial injuries came from ;). Yes, I know this is a really stink thing to say :D.

It was not only Adam Driver who said this, JJ made the same comments as well. Ben got neglected by his parents, this was especially in the time he found out his "powers", he needed more guidance. Secondly, Snoke was already 'targeting" Ben from a very young age, so these two things together made little Benny prone to the quick and easy path of the darkside.

the question is if Ben just felt neglected or if this was really the case, which would portray Han&Leia as bad parents?

From Ben's POV it probably is (remember what he said about Han to Rey?), some kids need more attention and guidance then others. I also read somewhere that Leia knew that Snoke was targeting Ben but didn't tell Han because she thought he wouldn't understand all this. Ben probably grew up at the wrong place at the wrong time...or not, we just don't know exactly what happened.

I'm very curious about the connection between Leia and Snoke. It really seems she knew him before anyone else. Maybe a political friend or ally, who later turned out as the enemy.
